Re: Weatherford Man Uses AR-15 To Stop Car Burglar

Looks good, but again, there's a potential for disaster here. Your actions in a situation like this have a lot of implied meaning. For example, he knocked on the window of the car with his AR and told the would-be thief to "get out of the car." OK. But what was he going to do if he DIDN'T ...

Locknload, you're exactly right. My post was referring to shooting him, not displaying your weapon per 9.31.

Re: Had a Knife Pulled on Me While Walking My Dog in Central Lubbock

I know this thread is a little old but I have to say something. A good attorney could skewer you on the fact that he didn't threaten you, beyond saying he'd call the cops if he saw you again. He wasn't trying to rob you or anything. Be ready, yes, but you can't grab your gun and slaughter somebody j...

Re: Hearing Protection Act of 2017

Why wouldn't foreign mfgs. import lower cost suppressors? I recall reading something to the effect they sell suppressors in Europe for $150.00 or so. So, why would domestic mfgs. continue to demand so very, very much more? :iagree: its a tube and some baffling, nothing overly impressive here! Exact...

Re: How to Handle Student's Failed Proficient Test

Is there any pattern of WHY these people fail such an easy test? E.g., flinching, stance, grip, etc.? Do you attend to such issues or do you ignore them with the viewpoint of either you pass or you don't? I can see not wanting to bog down a class with too much "how to shoot" content.

Oh, that would be just great. A bunch of camo-clad cretins with ARs picketing the entrance, and of course, being interviewed by the local TV news as "gun enthusiasts."

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?

It looks like no committee assignments have been made. Specifically no one has been assigned to the public safety committee (through which all gun bills must pass). You mean the committee ITSELF doesn't have any members yet? How serious is that at this point? Who is the key backer of this bill in t...

Re: Please Post Your Favorite Chili Recipies

Open can of Wolf's "hot" chili without beans.
Pour in covered dish.
Microwave until boiling hot, stirring once.
Eat from bowl with spoon, occasionally sprinkling with Fritos.
Optional: squirt a moderate amount of ketchup over the top.

Hard to beat the Clinger Stingray. Light, secure, durable, not expensive. I wear mine at 4:00 and the gun just vanishes.

Re: Battle rifle???? Really?

Why does it "get on your nerves" what somebody else chooses to call their gun? What if I call mine "whoopeekipperredherring"? You gonna have a tiff? :coolgleamA: I just call mine my "AR." Sometimes I call my magazines "clips," too, but boy, watch the Language ...

Re: HB 1050 - Ad Valorem Tax Reform

Another barrier to something like this getting passed is the idea of totally restructuring the entire Texas education funding system. Not too many people ready to dive into that abyss. That being said, property taxes are probably the ultimate example of unfairness. People who don't own property, or ...
