Re: Police Shoots Bank Robber On Highway

When I was a kid, the Sugar Land police station was a double wide trailer. Now it's a real big city with big city crime.

Re: carrying a gun before shooting it

All guns are paper weights in my eyes until they've proven to be functional and reliable at the range. I will not even carry a gun after cleaning it until it's been test fired again. I rotate carry guns. Range session involving carry gun(s), clean gun, next range session, test fire previously cleane...

Re: Has anyone here ever drawn there firearm in defense?

I have gotten as close as putting my hand on the grip but the situation did not escalate. It was very tense.

I'll be there at 5pm to help with setup. This week, I plan to use that bump on the end of my gun. :fire

Re: Weapon of choice for a zombie apocalypse

AR15 for me. I'm very comfortable with that platform and the 5.56 cartridge. A few hundred rounds of SS109 would be very easy to carry and I'd likely get multiple zombies with pass-throughs. :reddevil

Re: Prayers requested for a great friend of the forum

Visited with Tom today in the hospital. He's had a pretty serious setback and will not be going home soon.
Please crank up the prayers because they are needed.

I'm a huge fan of the 10mm cartridge. It's a pretty gun and I wouldn't mind having it but Obamanomics are killing my inner child.

Re: child bundled into a car - what do you do?

Very tough question. I am reading the responses with great interest. As for my own response, I'm not even going to try to tell you what I'll do because it is unknown. I can tell you that I will do something if this scenario ever plays out in my presence but the action I take will be determined at th...

Public whipping and execution has worked to deter crime for thousands of years. Good thing we're too civilized in this country to do that.

Re: Tuesdays, After Work

The TAW match is the most fun I have ever had with a pistol and I have shot quite a few different games and put a lot of lead downrange. Nothing even comes close to this.

If it was 110 degrees and a ski parka was mandatory attire, I'd still be there.

Drive safely, my friend. I hope your car gets good mileage because after you shoot this match you're going to want to come back next week.

Re: Slide holsters: worth it in TX

I like this type of holster for casual carry BUT, be aware of rivets on jeans or shorts. They will scratch the gun badly if the protruding muzzle comes in contact with them.

Re: Slide Lock (Empty) Reloads - Fine Point IDPA Question

You cannot pull a magazine or speedloader from it's pouch until you're behind cover, nor can you hit the mag or cylinder release before you're behind cover. If you run dry in the open, you must move to cover (if available) to reload. The best thing you can do on a stage that starts from cover is to ...

Re: 357 MAG MOUNTAIN LITE v HOGS

Have you fired those 357 mag Gold dot rounds through that gun yet? It's pretty brutal.

If a hog is on top of you/attacking, then that gun will definitely get the job done if you get hits but I would not expect it to perform well past 10 yards under stress, especially AFTER the first shot.
