Re: Replacing sights on Springfield XD9

I have replaced the sights on both my xd45 tactical and my xds. The sights seem to be installed cryogenicly, and are very useful if you like to break tools. Since I had absolutely no intention of re using the sights i simply used a cut-off wheel in a dremel to take a slice across them, then a few li...

Re: Found a weigh to keep my resolution!

Its amazing how it sneaks up on us. Im not exactly sure when I switched from iwb to owb full time, but it wasn't really a conscious decision. Switching back however WAS deliberate- and has taken effort. But 54 lbs in 4 months so far - living proof it can be done. At 75 Im placing an order for an and...

Re: HB56. Who does it apply too?

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2012/12/24/webster-new-york-firefighter-shot/1788917/ This is one of the most recent ones to hit the national news. I'm sure there have been others, but this one stood out to me. Just one of many. I know first hand several metro area fire and ambulance serv...

Re: HB56. Who does it apply too?

Fire Marshalls and investigators are not the ones putting on bunker gear dragging hoses into burning buildings either. I wouldn't want to expose live ammo to extreme heat. If I had go go into a fire I would dump my firearm and extra mags before doing so. I would think that to be enough hot to cook ...

Re: Removing grime from gun parts

I'll probably catch some flak, but i would put it in a bottle (the gatorade singles work well) with a little naptha or white gas and shake. A handful of aquarium rock or fine pea gravel will expedite. Release pressure - repeat. I use the same method on rimfire bolts. A better option might be to thro...

Re: Feds warn of threat to churches this weekend

While anything that expands ltc is a step in the right direction, I would strongly prefer a broader approach. Protecting all licensees - not just in a church setting. As beneficial as the bill protecting volunteer first responders would be to me personally, I cannot in good faith support the creatio...

Re: Rimfire Shotgun

So their into antiques.

I understand using what you have, but looking at my old remington 151- a pointy stick might be better.

Winchester model 70 30.06

Cleaning out the safe and run across this poor critter. Lightweight blued model 70, black synthetic stock. Simmons 3x9 scope, Caldwell bipod, all tucked in the classic cheapo dosko hard case. I've got 9 boxes of factory ammo, various brands and weights with a few missing here and there. I'd like to ...

Re: Welcome to polar Texas

Maybe we can at least get snow or ice out of this deal. :biggrinjester: Hush You take that back RIGHT NOW! I personally like the cold, but being volly fire amd ems - my love for the slick stuff has dwindled. I can think of plenty of places I'd rather be than on the side of the road tonight. I broug...

Welcome to polar Texas

Decided to top off the feeder this afternoon, around 2:00 - according to the truck it was a lovely 73°. Knew the front was coming so decided to just relax in the blind. Fast forward 2.5 hours Thermoter in the blind just dipped south of 30°. This is just south of abilene. Probably too windy for most ...
