One of my carry is a 3" 65 with a bobed hammer in a Stoner paddle with a vest , never have been hassled yet wearing it. I just bought Stoner's shoulder hostler which is a belly band that rides where a shoulder hostler rides and you just have to wear a tee-shirt over it. The verdict is still out...

If I were you borrow a semi-auto to shoot the course, then you may carry ether semi or wheelgun ( revolver for the young ones). If you shoot a wheelgun you may only carry a wheelgun. Do your qualification then carry what you are good with.
