Thanks. As, I had said, I had not read the bill as thoroughly as others and I did miss something.

Re: HB435 Emergency Services Personnel

I also think the law is very clear that you do not need to actively be providing volunteer services at the time you are carrying. I may be missing something since I did not study the bill thoroughly, but I disagree. I read it as yu must be providing the service at the time for the exemption to appl...

Re: El Paso LEO in counter

That was one of my questions also. Under what jurisdiction, would a speeding ticket be filed. Speed limits are set by the state, and are enforced, in either the JP court, for that county's precinct, or in a municipal court. The Federal Government, should not be allowed to enforce compliance with St...

Re: I finally decided to do it

I am not a fan of lights on carry guns for most people. I think the basic premise stated for the need is wrong. It may be true for a home defense weapon that you cannot shoot what you cannot see, but in most self-defense situations you are going to be able to see the target. Think about all of your ...

Re: Defense of 3rd Person's Property

I have seen this post in several spots on Facebook already. I did not know he lost the reserve officer slot, but it seems very reasonable to me. He missed a significant portion of the law and an officer should know better. He did at least point out the "at night" clause, but he missed the ...

Re: Six Flags is history...

I saw this in another forum also. I commented then how I would no longer ever visit Six Flags, to the loss of my grandchildren. I deplore the moral cowardice involved in this change. I could have supported it if they just corrected their flag display to show the actual flag that flew over Texas, ins...

Re: Firing pin broken

I think Brownell's and Numrich have the largest variety of parts for firearms. I have had good experiences ordering from Brownell's but never used Numrich. I think Numrich buys a lot of older gun parts and going out of business inventories, so they might be better if it is an unusual gun while Brown...

Re: Brewery Not 51% ...

The answer to the apparent dilemma lies in the license or permit type. Out of curiosity, I checked the No Label Brewery and it has a brewer's permit (note the letter B at the start of the permit number). This is a wholesale/manufacturer's permit and does not authorize ANY retail sales. This means th...

Also there's a rumor that Abbott is considering just stringing special Sessions together until the next election to keep them from raising money for their elections. I doubt this is more than some enemy spreading rumors. Abbott already announced that this would be the only special session when he c...

Actually, TAM, we don't pay the same tax rate. Once one of you reach 65 you're eligible for the ov-65 exemption which freezes both the rate and the valuation of your property (at least for school taxes). So while everybody else's taxes increase, ours stay pretty much the same. Technical correction....

Re: DC: Shaquille Robinson vs U.S.

I started to say that I thought they would lose and SCOTUS will accept the rule of the 4th Circuit. After all, the real requirements of Terry have all but been ignored lately by a lot of police and court cases. If anyone read the requirements of Terry, the NY Stop and Frisk program could never have ...

Re: Lewisville Western Days 51% signs

TABC Code actually says: Minor technical correction but this is from the Penal Code and not the Alcoholic Beverage Code. The ABC has a different definition of premises which is used for the purposes of issuing the license. The Penal Code defines premises for the purpose of the offense committed. Th...

Re: Woman calls 911....Get shot

Is anyone aware of any sort of body camera that automatically enables at the sound of gunfire? You know, for just this sort of occasion. The cameras they had have a buffer of what happened 30 seconds before the camera is "enabled", as long as someone manually turns the camera on. Why not ...
