Re: Renewal

Yes, I received a letter from DPS about 6 months before my CHL expired to remind me. I did the renewal online and got the new license 2 weeks after that.

Re: Shooting Required for Renewal?

I received a letter from Texas DPS 6 months before my CHL expired to remind me I would need to renew my CHL. I went to the Texas DPS/CHL website, filled out the application and paid the fees then received the new CHL in under 2 weeks. I did not need to take any class or shoot a single round.

I renewed mine last year and I didn't need to shoot. I filled out the renewal application on line and paid the $72 renewal + processing fees with my credit card then I received the new plastic in 2 weeks.

Re: When to renew CHL and prcoedure question.......

I got a letter from DPS in August to remind me to renew my CHL (about 6 months before the expiration date). Online renewal was simple and painless, it took me about 15 mins to answered a few questions and give them my credit card # to pay for the $72 fee ($70 renewal fee + $2 processing fee). The ne...

Re: CHL expires today

Why.....didn't you just apply earlier. If you had applied earlier you would not have all this tention now. How early can you renew? I'm good for now, but just wondering? Do they send some kind of notice or renewal letter? Thanks in advance. I received a renewal letter 6 months before the expiration...

Re: Renewal status

I renewed my CHL on 7/30/14 and received the new license today 8/15. I went to https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps/chl/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; everyday but could not check the online status.
