Re: Trump health chief supports CDC research on gun violence

Every time someone mentions studying anything related to firearms, it is a guarantee that hands will be thrown in the air, the words "caved" or "sold-out" will be used, and the specter of a mass turn-in of all firearms is raised. I know the gun-grabber Democrats want to ban guns ...

Re: FL: Active shooter at high school in South Florida

The vast majority of those on this forum know that no gun control (gun bans) will fix this on-going problem. And while the details of the following quote aren't important, the sentiment expressed is what matters. “The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it ...

Re: Remington Bankruptcy

When I saw that Cerberus had been involved, I no longer questioned what had happened to them. An investment group that probably knows close to zero about firearms.

Not watching either. Sitting watching movies with the family. The millionaires will still make their money without me and mine.

Re: Joseph Kopser--anti-gun

So, my question is this: what did he do in the Army? What was his MOS? I mean, since he seems to think he's qualified to talk about firearms as an expert, was he combat arms of some sort? I see he was a ring-knocker and that he earned a Combat Action Badge, but how did he earn that? The devil is in ...

Re: Which gun is it for you?

I guess the one firearm I would most regret to part with would be the first pistol I ever bought, a Ruger P89, safety model. Purchased it back in 1997, after coming back to the States after a four-year assignment in England. It has a LOT of rounds through it, still feeds and functions great. I did p...

Re: MI:Former Marine charged with assault with attempt to murder after defending his family

So, here is my next question: the man who initiated the crime, and reportedly fired first, who is he related to? the way I read it, the one who started it all is the boyfriend of a friend. It reads like he arrived later, as she was "leaving the party". Well, I was wondering if the guy who...

Re: MI:Former Marine charged with assault with attempt to murder after defending his family

Obviously there is more to the back story on this. However, I find it highly delightful that it's okay for someone shoot up someone's home, and they are immune from anything bad happening to them as long as they run away after doing it. Again, the law seems to be on the side of the person who initia...

Re: KS:Witchta man dies after fake "Swatting" call

When we received training on accidents, we were taught the concept of a chain of events. Breaking any link in the chain will prevent the accident from occurring. I really cannot see how this is any different, besides it not being an accident, which makes it worse. The entire incident would never ha...

Re: What knife do you carry?

On the subject of bayonet use in the era of semi-automatic/automatic firearms, when the paratroopers were briefed on their D-Day jump and subsequent actions, they were told to use hand-grenades and bayonets as much as possible. This was to make them harder to locate and to conserve ammunition, since...

Re: Snatch and Grab at Church Tonight

Terrible times that we live in, when the best that can be said is that the bad guys got away with someone's property, and at least no one died. Who cares about the hours of the person's life spent working to acquire that property, right? That is when you know the system is biased toward the criminal...

Re: Acquittal in Bundy Ranch Prosecutions

I have no sympathy for Bundy. Ranchers should pay for their grass leases. That is well-accepted--at least in Texas. Bundy thinks he is entitled to a free grass-lease on the tax-payer's dime. Just a free-loader in my eyes. Weren't they kicked off of the land so that it could be "developed"...

Re: What knife do you carry?

SNIP I have another small 2-2.5" folder, Kershaw Shuffle. I carry this one most often and when I have my Glock. When I carry the Recon, I usually put it in my right front pocket and that gets in the way of my holster, so I don't carry the recon when I have the Glock with me. When I don't have ...
