Well, I have a lawyer buddy that said he'd take the case on contingency. Since he was one of the legislators on the floor when the bill was passed, I believe him. And "intent" does not trump the black and white of the penal code. So if DPS thinks they can arrest someone for violating a law...

Won't arrest me? Darn. I need the money. I'd love to get arrested for not breaking a law. Did DPS say what you would be charged with if you had a CHL and a handgun and "illegal" knive? I hope it's under Sec. 46.02. Then, not only will I get money, but whoever does the arresting can visit t...

Yep. It's legal to carry a handgun, illegal knive or club IF you have a CHL and are carrying your handgun. Why? Because of this; (b)Section 46.02 does not apply to a person who: (6) is carrying a concealed handgun and a valid license issued under Article 4413(29ee), Revised Statutes, to carry a conc...

Carry at state parks

Someone put forth the proposition that carry in Texas State Parks was illegal. So I asked Parks & Wildlife about it. They cogitated for 2 weeks and sent me this email; Thank you for your interest in the Texas State Parks. A person can carry a loaded concealed handgun in Texas State Parks with a ...

Having had the same vehicle broken into twice while parked at school, I would certainly second this suggestion. (Fortunately, no firearms were stolen either time.)[/quote] now that would be a sticky report to file with local LEO... Too bad your guns got stolen from your truck , when you parked the c...

Yes, but that does not seem to be the law he was referring to by this statement Also, effective sept 1 the general prohibition against guns on school premises will be replaced with a new law that defines prohibited behaviors rather than possesion. What bill has a law which replaces 46.03? I'll tell ...

The bill I think you are looking for is HB 1815. It reads; SECTION 1.  Section 46.02, Penal Code, is amended by amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsections (a-1) and (a-2) to read as follows: (a)  A person commits an offense if the person [he] intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries ...

Why in the goose-stepping hell would anyone attend anything at this place? "Empty water bottles are OK, you can fill them at our water fountains"? You pay $100+ for a ticket and are treated worse than an inmate in county jail? No thanks. I'll buy a CD and turn my sound system up.

Why not just keep it simple. Go to http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/enforce/CompInv.htm

and ask them. If the posting is wrong they will correct it. No muss, no fuss. I might be in Blanco someday and "need" to eat there.

Can we change the CHL law in a special session?

Hey Charles, you got that bill ready to go to remove the ban on CHL in schools? Think we could get Perry to put it in a special session? There is much talk that he's going to call a session after the Lege overturns his veto of the transportation bill.

Taco Cabana; NO WEAPONS ON OUR PROPERTY

I emailed Taco Cabana about their policy on 30.06 signs. I received this in response. I am Vice President, Associate General Counsel for Taco Cabana and I am writing because I received your April 16,2007, comment to the company regarding our Concealed Handguns Policy. First, let me tell you that I a...
