Re: DUI checkpoints and providing CHL

I would have my chl out as soon as I could get to it. Why give anyone an excuse . An excuse for what? Texas law is clear that the CHL must be displayed when ID is demanded. Yep but rather than wait if it is in a checkpoint situation where they might not even ask for ID I would get ahead of it rathe...

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL

You guys are right. It is a sad commentary on America that there will probably be riots if justice is served, but there is very little risk of direct action if injustice prevails.

Re: Front Yard Open Carry

What if I call 911 to report somebody walking around in a Batman costume. The police might show up to investigate but if no laws are being broken there is nothing for the police to do. If I continued to call 911 to reportthe Batman impersonator, I would expectt reasonable cops to get more annoyed wi...

Re: Over-policing plus justified fear of impersonators

On one hand we have college girls buying water and cookie dough.

On the other hand we have people frightening those college girls by screaming at them, pounding on windows, and waving at least one gun around.

Decisions. Decisions.

Re: Texas gun owners may be asking themselves

The original CHL law was passed by Democratic legislators. Compared to what we got from the Republicans recently, I am now willing to give them another shot, especially after the FUD tactics of some here.

Re: Another special session?

The restrictions on a basic human right that "shall not be infringed" combined with the socialist programs funded by tax dollars suggests Texas is already a Blue State in practice.

Should we expect someone to take off their shoe, pound it on the table, and say "we will bury you" soon? :biggrinjester:

Re: 17y/o Killed By Neighborhood Watch/CHL

I agree this trial is a Sideshow (an expensive one). But, Zimmerman could have avoided all of this if he had done just two things that I am sure he is thinking about now: Observe & Report. Cute but I thought that's what he was doing when he was jumped by some who was kicked out of school for be...

Convict? If she is their star witness, any grand juror who would vote to indict probably had some ulterior motive.
