Re: How long to wait?

When I took the my original course years ago, I left with the certification in hand, that is even how they handled renewals. Now days, I understand that they mail it to you, the latest renewal was received about a week after class, as was the SSCI (School Safety Certification Instructor) certificate...

Re: Liability of business owners who ban licensed handguns

As for hospitals, are they taking tax money? Yes, I know I sound like a lib. Yes, almost all of them take tax money. And those that are "non-profit" which is a true misnomer pay no property or sales tax. What does them taking tax money have to do with 30.06/07 though? There are 2 hospital...

Re: Liability of business owners who ban licensed handguns

I do not see that any of the business or private properties can require that you do business with them or go to their property. It is the right and decision of the LTC holder to go to these places, so they have made the choice to unarm themselves, (fully knowing that they are disarmed) and go into t...

I am hoping the Hearing Protection Act gets passed and I can then legally build them for about a 100 dollars.

Re: Gun rights for a Felon?

WOW! This thread has gotten all kinds of responses. Some say "NO WAY", some say felons should be OK because some people speed or some other nonsense, some say there should be a time limit, and everything in between. For what it is worth, if a person is convicted of a felony, then any restr...

I guess it depends on how you were raised. My boys, (as do I) believe common sense gun law would mean any firearm you can afford, carry and shoot or want.

Re: Gun rights for a Felon?

Going back to felons and guns, there's an interesting carve out in Texas (and some other states I understand). After five years from discharge of the sentence, a felon can possess a firearm in their residence. Lot of issues, possess versus own, purchase, residence only, etc, but it's interesting. T...

PC 30.05 Criminal Trespass defines the trespass that occurs without "effective consent". IMO Effective consent is given when the firearm has been checked and ziplocked so that it cannot be used in this condition. Effective consent is given as long as the conditions presented by the owner ...

Re: Poll - How many rounds?

The carry of Glock or any other mid to large pistol would bother my back towards the end of the day. A LEO buddy told me to wear a counter balance and it was a fantastic difference! I carry the G19 15 +1 and two G17 mags as counter balance (34 rnds) totaling 50 rounds. However, I do realize that if ...
