i run 1911s, and have since childhood... i've always been dumbfounded by folks' need to 'detail strip' a 1911. my old 'farm .45' used to get field stripped and blasted with brake cleaner every May when i got back on grandad's farm... whether it needed it or not... :)

yeah, i can do it, have done it... will do it again. but i don't thing my new Remmy will need the full strip for a long time. it just isn't that necessary. granted, i don't shoot 500 rounds a week, and i clean them if i shoot them, and store them right.

i think some dudes are a little OCD when it comes to firearms. i suffer as well, it's just pointed in a different direction.

and let me sound like less of a jerk by saying i have done stupid things with a hammer in my hand, like this chap... and i have the scars to prove some of them.

let's go easy on him. he's a glock guy, after all. :)
