Re: .45 HP necessary YorN

However with 45acp is that really needed. the projectile already makes a bigger hole and carries more mass but with it's lower velocity does an expanding bullet risk an undesirable reduction in penetration. Put simply will ball rounds be good enough for defence, while reducing the risk of a miss-fe...

Re: What is Reliable Enough?

Interesting....... I've never had an issue with Magtech ammo, in any pistol, in any caliber, in any platform. The thing is, you've got more than one potential issue going on, and that adds to the complexity of diagnosing the specific problem with your wife, with that pistol. But to answer your most...

Re: What is Reliable Enough?

I had an issue with Magtech .45 in my EDC that has been 100% reliable with Hornaday. I carry Hornaday exclusively as my EDC ammo for over a year now. I did have some of the same issues with my wife's P938 and Magtech but since I have started carrying it as my BUG, it now gets Hornaday and never had ...

What type of ammo? Some require a 200 round break. They can be a little finicky on ammo type sometimes.

Re: Traveling long distance with your edc...

Depending where I am going and the purpose but I always carry my EDC (1911 of some sort) and my "truck gun" (full size XD45). Now if we will be staying in a location out in the country, I will take my AR 15 and/or one of my deer rifles.

Re: Why I like revolvers over semi-autos

The other is a S&W 500 Mag. I have it just because. Maybe the BG is hiding behind the refrigerator........at my neighbors house. Skiprr: "Hey, RP! I heard you bought a Barrett 82A1. Is it the .50 BMG?" RPBrown: "Yep. Never even considered the .416." Skiprr: "Long barrel...

Re: Storm Door Expert Needed

I drilled two 1/2" holes on each side into the 2x4 frame between the doors to relieve the pressure. Going up through the top is probably not an option as they usually install a heavy top plate that may be 6" or more thick.
