Re: Tell us your opinions and experiences

A second story, to follow on the one above. This one doesn't really fall into the category of women being harassed or intimidated, but it still follows my earlier example of how men occasionally (and most incorrectly) assume the fairer sex is less knowledgeable about guns. My daughter (6 years old ...

Re: Tell us your opinions and experiences

When my wife was looking for her second gun, she went by herself to the gunstore/range and I was to meet her there. Now, keep in mind, this was several years ago before she developed arthritis in her hands. She had been shooting my 1911's and XD45 for a while and even carried one of my 1911's. She w...

Re: Anybody daily carry a single action revolver?

The only SA that I have is Super Blackhawk. My dad gave it to me a couple of years ago. It was part of a matched set and he kept the other one. I will get it when he is gone :cryin I have only carried it once, last Halloween, mainly because of the SA. I'm not saying what I was dressed as

Re: Bearding

I used to have a full beard about 12" long. In 1974 I was using an electric drill on a unit outside when a gust of wind blew my beard into the drill. Only ripped out a few hairs before I let go of the trigger but it was enough to make me cut it short. Now I only have a goatee

Lets throw another little hiccup into the equation. All the same except you go into the house through the garage and the thief is inside your home.
Scenario # 1--Has a TV in hand but no visible weapon
Scenario # 2--Same as # 1 but has a holstered pistol

What is CSHB 1911?

I received a tweet from Alice Tripp about CSHB 1911 and she thanks Charles for his assistance. I cannot locate any information on this. Anyone know what it is?

Re: Grove TX: Man robs McDonalds by poking a hairbrush under a leopard print robe

Ok we need to get organized and start the drive to ban hairbrushes. If that won't work we need to go after Leopard print robes. The article didn't say, but I'm betting it was an assault brush, probably had a high capacity bristle count. No one needs more than 10 bristles. Plus the robe was an obvio...

Re: Felon Shoots Cop In Face With Shotgun. Annoyed Cop Fires Back.

If you need to use a shotgun, a slug is the way to go, devastating. :iagree: Absolutely. I have all 6 rounds loaded with slugs. If a BG is in my house, I want there to be no doubt that he is stopped to a point he cannot continue. I know that last sentence sounds funny but I have seen druggies hit, ...

Re: Green/Red chamber

I follow the 21' rule:
By the time you recognize a threat, draw your weapon, aim, and fire 2 rounds, an assailant can cover 21'. throw in a couple of seconds to rack the slide and you are probably already being attacked.

Therefore I carry cocked and locked no matter which gun I have.

Re: How do you determine value of pistol for sale

On the Colt, if it is blued, I would start around 3200-3500 if nickle then probably around 4000-4500.

The Sig, probably around 1000-1100.

Both of course depends on how quick you want to sell them, the condition, and whether you are willing to negotiate.

You need a nice custom tooled leather gunbelt and matching holster, and a custom 1911 with mother of pearl grip panels, carried openly. Both the holster body and the mother of pearl grip panels should have your clan's crest worked into them.
