Ammo for Colt 38 Bankers Special

I have come into possession of my grandfather's Colt 38 Bankers Special. Research and S/N indicate it was made in 1928 and was supposed to use "S&W 38" which supposedly is the same as ".38 Colt New Police" (a Colt proprietary equivalent), but other research indicates that thi...

Re: Just a dumb question . Hospitals ??

And according to my CHL instructor, any hospital associated with a medical school is under the school prohibition and doesn't need a sign. One would be wise to check prior.

Re: 51% patio carry?

If they were a food/bar place, you should pull their TABC license and see if they truly are a 51% place. Some restaurants post 51% signs in the bar area, even tho they are not.

Re: Paperwork not received

Mailed my package with delivery confirmation which was confirmed received on 23 Apr. My online status changed on 25 May (now in the "waiting on BG check").

Patience seems to be the only way here.

Re: HIDE-IT HOLSTER W/ CELL CASE: DEEP CONCEALMENT HOLSTER

Appreciate the input. Seems good for a thin subcompact SA, but I wouldn't want to carry my 1911 that way. I'm thinking I'll get one since the majority of the reviews were somewhat favorable. I'll try to remember to post my experience after a couple months.

HIDE-IT HOLSTER W/ CELL CASE: DEEP CONCEALMENT HOLSTER

Anybody familiar with this product from ultimateconcealedcarry.com? tried a search, but too many bad results. This looks something I might like for a sub-compact SA.

Re: UT Austin campus rules question

Visitors can park in the campus garages for the posted fees. All of the lots/street spaces requires permits and you will be ticketed within seconds 24/7 if you park in one of those. trust me.

Re: What's with getting out of the car?

Thank you for your perspectives. Although I made a point of pulling way off the road, you're probably right about the safety issue, it's just the only time I was ever asked to get out, so it bothered me. I agree, always obey the officer.

and uh ... @Alan, I still have my 1911 from Nam.

Re: What's with getting out of the car?

My CHL app is in the "waiting on background check" stage. I just found this forum and find it helpful for me to decide what/how to carry. Perhaps I misunderstood and posted in the wrong place, but with the forum title of LEO Contacts, I thought I would ask a question that has been bugging ...

What's with getting out of the car?

Stopped by a DPS trooper for going 6 over in a 70 (wound up with a warning). But, after he took my stuff and came back, he asked me to step out of my vehicle, and we finished the session standing off the side of the road. My question is, do I have to get out of my vehicle if asked, and why is he ask...
