Re: US Military Veterans: tattered US flag etiquette question.

If it's personal and private property, I'd go with the MYOB. Public/military institutions should certainly follow flag etiquette.

Personally, I fly a cheapie on my flagpole and replace it when worn. My flags that flew over the U.S. Capitol and my former command when I retired, are kept inside.

Re: Oliver North to speak at 30.06ed Church

I went to school with Ollie North, and I served with him. He sold his soul for thirty pieces of silver. You make your own decision, I have made mine.

Re: Remember the Ellen's restaurant? Money went to....

Is no one else disturbed that a private business owner exercising his rights under the Bill of Rights, was threatened violence by some others who want to exercise thier rights under the BoR?

Boycott, or leave a card, but the extremism of a few does not help our argument.

Re: Is the Galveston Opera House Posted?

Probably a third party liquor vendor who has the 51% license, not the venue. Still makes the whole place off limits. Something the lege needs to change.

My municipality specifically bans discharging BB guns within city limits.

Re: Balistol vs Hoppes

I use Ballistol exclusively on my black powder firearms becasue it is water based (probably why hickock45 uses it also). I clean with hot soapy water, but use Ballistol fro lube.(Can't use petroleum based stuff with BP, it gums up.)

Re: Probably a stupid question

I know recently here in tx, they passed campus carry. I wondered if that extended to all schools or just college campuses. Only public colleges and universities and private universities that chose to allow carry. But there are areas that can be off-limits. Here is a good article that explains a lot...

Re: Brass Cleaning

That does look absolutely outstanding, but how long does it take the brass to dry? Asking because I like to start reloading my cleaned brass right away. If you deprime before you wet wash, it would dry fast. Still I hate to see water hides in the primer pocket. So either I leave the brass overnight...

Re: Texas LTC Requirements

Depends. Texas will still honor a valid out-of state license. But, the issuing state may cancel the license once it finds you are no longer a resident. For example, Texas honors the Illinois resident license, but Illinois will cancel the license when the person moves to another state.

Re: Banks, credit-card cos. explore tracking gun purchases

My bank is USAA. I'm not concerned. USAA has 30.06/7 signs at their HQ and Offices in San Antonio and the senior executive level may well populated by statist military authoritarian general/flag officer types. These people often have no concern for the rights of "civilians" AKA citizens , or even e...

I just tried adding some Flitz to my walnut shells (Harbor Freight tumbler). Wow, the results are amazing, like brand new. And I shoot black powder in my reloads.

Re: The "I am a marine not a soldier"

I'm an old Marine. Never a soldier. Although the term Naval Infantry is applicable (notice I didn't say Navy infantry :) ) I was happy to call myself a "naval officer" in the Department of the Navy, but never in the Navy. I always had an appreciation for the Vietnamese term for Marine however - "Tuy...
