Re: Drones Good or Bad

The technology required to do what is in the video is not available, yet. However, it will arrive and you are likely to see applications like shown in the video. As for the drone swarm idea, we have already seen it happen when IADs (Improvised Attack Drones) were used to attack a Russian military ba...

Re: Anyone go through the FAA Part 107 process?

Thanks for the feedback, I have actually considered each of these fields to some degree. I am actually approaching the drone business to start it part time, then proceed to adding staff and expanding into additional markets. One market I want to get into ASAP is agriculture, which if you know anythi...

Re: Anyone go through the FAA Part 107 process?

I take it you are in the insurance industry, if that is correct and you don't mind sharing a little info could I ask you if have you ever hired one of your drone business clients? If so what kind of job did you need them to do?

Re: Anyone go through the FAA Part 107 process?

I recommend general liability and UAV liabilty policies at a minimum. The UAV coverage can be purchased on a per year or per flight basis. Whether you insure the drone for physical damage or not is up to you to decide if it is worth it. The per-flight policies like verifly cost around $10 a flight,...

Re: Anyone go through the FAA Part 107 process?

Quick Update, after studying everything I could find I finally drove to Lubbock and took the Unmanned Aircraft - General test. Out of 60 questions I missed 3, the only three that I stopped and reconsidered then changed my answer. Each of these were 'too easy' and had to be trick questions in my mind...

Re: "Swatting" claims another innocent victim shot by LEO

The Austin paper's statistics show that only 7% of the people killed by the Polce in 2017, were unarmed. Seem a bit high? Not necessarily. A person driving a car is "unarmed" but if someone tries to run over pedestrians then officers would be justified in shooting the "unarmed suspec...

Re: Not your average dilemma

If the NFA items are not registered then the only option is to turn them into the ATF. There is nothing that could be done now for non registered NFA items. That is not entirely the case IIRC. I believe you can donate them to law enforcement, who can register and use them, thereby getting a tax wri...

Re: Not your average dilemma

There is an outfit I have heard only good about, it's been a while but I believe they are called Dury's Guns. My understanding is they can sell the entire collection on consignment for the estate and maximize the profit. I'm not 100% sure that is who I recall hearing so much about, but I'm "nin...

Re: TX: Sutherland Springs church 26 dead 20 injured in mass shooting

Unless the shooter told the gun store something to the effect of "I need to buy a gun so I can go kill a bunch of people" then the Federal PLCAA act also comes into play. I hate it when I hear about an attorney filing a case like this because he leaves HIS victims a huge legal bill for the...

Re: Dressing Up your Guns

I have never seen color case work with that exact color spectrum, must be part of the process used to apply it to aluminum on that AR. I keep threatening to send my Delta Elite to be color cased, but I enjoy shooting that thing too much to let it go long enough for the work to be done.

Re: WINCHESTER Model 1895

Ha ha! It was a neighbor and she knew I hunt etc. The rifle was not on display at the garage sale. She told she had a couple of guns for sale so I said "sure, I will take a look", imaging my surprise when I saw the 1895. I asked her how much she wanted for it and she said "what do yo...

Re: TX: Sutherland Springs church 26 dead 20 injured in mass shooting

DPS states the shooter had three wounds, one in the torso, one in the leg, one in the head. The head wound was self inflicted. The armed citizen’s cousin said the citizen shot him twice in the neck. Regardless of which is correct the armed citizen is a true hero who deserves all our thanks. He real...

Re: TX: Sutherland Springs church 27 dead 30 injured in mass shooting

Here's the sum total of everything we know for a fact at this point: Nothing. I have seen news interviews with witnesses, a man who claimed he drove in pursuit of the shooter while the armed neighbor rode with him, I have also seen the typical claims from both sides of the debate. Until facts are kn...

I'll give you my one stay-away from recommendation and I'll tell you what I have used successfully. First, stay away from the Lee pro-1000. Don't waste your money, time, and effort on that junk. The first press I used was a Lee Classic Turret, good press and it is still in use by a friend. I got awa...
