Re: Is Deviancy The New Norm?

I once had a brother-in-law who was gay. In response to the cultural perception that he was not normal, he used to say, "who gets to define what is normal?". I never verbalized this to him (he was a relative), but my response would be, mathematics defines it. If more than 50% of people are...

Re: Cheap ranges to shoot at?

I don't think you can find a better deal on good .380 than Freedom Munitions. It is mail order only, but they frequently have deals on shipping. I have done A/B testing of Freedom vs some big names (UMC, Sellier & Bellot), and it compares very favorably.

Re: M&P®380 SHIELD™ EZ™ Consumer Advisory

I have a new EZ .380. The problem is not related to +P ammo. It behaves just like my Dan Wesson 1911; while shooting, my thumb nudges the safety to on. This problem is so common on 1911s, that some shooters use a "high thumb hold", with the thumb on top of the safety. I have been doing tha...

Re: Lever-action pistol

This has gotten completely out of hand, with people making up conspiracy theories. I never said he had to be able to fire it with one hand; I said that the State definition of a handgun is one that "has been designed to be fired with one hand." Big difference. Whether or not that particula...

Re: Open letter to progressive socialists and other leftists

Thanks for keeping us updated on what the enemy is doing, and yes, I mean enemy. I believe that most democrats/marxists have good intentions, but their naivete and lack of understanding of human nature leads them to push American society in a direction that would be favored by the Communist party, f...

Re: My home defense gun - a cheap pistol

When a gun fires because the slide has gone to battery, that means either 1. the firing pin spring is broken/missing, and inertia drove the FP into the cartridge, or 2. the FP was stuck in the forward position. This is often caused by someone lubricating the FP (it should be dry), and heat baked the...

RSD dropped the requirement for the barcode in 2017, but failed to remove every reference to it. It is not necessary to send it.

Re: Background check?

If the BG check is prior to getting a CHL, then no, CHL does not appear. Guns also do not appear, as the State has no idea what guns you own.

When a LEO runs your DL, the CHL does appear.

Look at your thumbs. With a proper grip, they will be pointing at the target. Understand that point-and-shoot only works at close distance, about 5 yards or less.

I have never had that problem at Eagle in Lewisville, or Bullet Trap in Plano.

+10 on the Dan Wesson. Not even in the same league with Ruger/Springfield. After all, DW is owned (now) by CZ. They wanted a company that could make 1911s up to their standard.

RE: TABC app

FYI --
By default, it shows all locations with a liquor license. There is an option in settings to only show 51% locations. For me, more useful that way.

Re: Standing Guard | In Today’s Democratic Party, Democrat Equals Socialist

In the early 1920s, American "progressives", the first "dreamers", fell in love with the romantic concept of a "worker's revolution", as done by the Bolsheviks in 1917. Woodrow Wilson was an early supporter. While the Bolsheviks may have had good intentions to create a ...
