Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?
Working my way through the bill in detail... From HB 560 as filed: SECTION 1. Section 30.06(e), Penal Code, is amended to read as follows: (e) It is an exception to the application of this section that the property on which the license holder carries a handgun is owned or leased by a governmental e...

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?
Just wrote my Rep, even though I know it will fall on (D)eaf ears. Here's what I wrote if anyone wants to use or modify it for their Rep. As a law-abiding Texan and a License to Carry holder, I am often forced to disarm and leave my legally-carried handgun in my car while entering specific buildings...

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?
Overall, this looks like a great bill, but there's also a lot in it there I don't understand. Hopefully, someone with more expertise than me can clarify what all it does. I'm especially curious about the implications of removing 56.02(b). I'm in the same boat. I understand everything up until it ge...

Also does anyone know if the bill is identical or similar to the one filed last session?

HB 560 - Holy Grail?
Here it is, probably the most anticipated bill of the session for the likes of us: HB 560 Looks like this bill: Nullifies enforcement of gun-free zones on all government property Clarifies school activity "portion of a building" and "grounds" prohibition Clarifies voting location...

Re: SB 16 - priority bill, reduction of LTC fees
You'd be surprised on how much people can put off something based on the price. $140 is a pretty big chunk of change for most people. Eliminating the fee will eliminate one big reason that people don't end up getting it. Of course, those serious about self defense would still get it regardless of p...

Re: New Member asking for a general ltc holder's opinion
Hi all, I recently received my LTC and I usually don't give my money to businesses that posts the 30.06 and .07 signs. I vote with my money so to speak. My question to all is, if your employer has those signs, does it apply to the workers as well? I think (I only gathered 3 small businesses owner's...

Re: American Airlines - checked baggage handgun
Flew out of Austin last week on United. The check-in lady had me open my bag and unlock & open my nanovault (which is secured to the luggage with a cable wrapped around a solid part of the bag inside). She said I need to leave my box unlocked. I've checked my pistol many times at many different ...

Re: SB 16 - priority bill, reduction of LTC fees
The guy who already owns a handgun but who just hasn't gotten around to getting his LTC only because of $140...trust me, he ain't in your sustainable business model. You'd be surprised on how much people can put off something based on the price. $140 is a pretty big chunk of change for most people....

Re: This is extra wishful...51% changes
What I understand from listening to Charles is that doing away with most of 46.03/.035 will stop things like the Texas State Fair being off limits for LTC's because of someone's 51% sign being posted at the entry gate. A concert being off limits because a vendor has used that address for his licens...

Re: SB 16 - priority bill, reduction of LTC fees
One last question? Assuming this bill passes, it will create a giant volume increase & likewise hudge backlog in processing. If the costs are all waived, who's paying for all the DPS costs to function a massive increase in an already swamped department? would taxes be effected in any way? Just ...

Re: SB 16 - priority bill, reduction of LTC fees
I guess I'm wondering where will the funds come from? The Texas Comptroller’s office collects about $50 billion annually acording to their website. https://www.comptroller.texas.gov/transparency/revenue/ The "loss" of LTC fees is the proverbial drip in a very large bucket. I doubt anyone ...

Hearing Protection Act and TPC 46.05(a)(1)(D)
Anyone know if there's a push to repeal 46.05(a)(1)(D) in preparation for the certainly imminent vote on the Hearing Protection Act next year? (a) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally or knowingly possesses, manufactures, transports, repairs, or sells: (1) any of the following ite...
