Re: CC/OC in city park at ticketed event

Resurrecting this thread. Just left the Austin Trail of Lights. Now they have an (illegal) 30.06 sign posted at the entrance. Who wants to (pointlessly) tell the city they’re not permitted? Not an illegal sign since the city wouldn't have posted it - the event organizers would have posted it. Wasn'...

Re: Flat Nose 147 Grain 9mm

I've also run a bunch of flat nose 148gr 9mm through my Glock 19 w/ suppressor. No problems feeding, firing, or ejecting that I can think of.

Re: Fayette County Clerk Office`

I thought anyone could post a 30.06 and/or 30.07 sign? Are there places that aren’t allowed to post those signs? Government entities cannot post the signs unless the place is an off-limits place such as courthouses or schools. However, Federal property is always off-limits per Federal law and as su...

Re: national reciprocity and fix nics

This is being discussed on page 5 here: http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=90799 Bottom line.... There is no new rulemaking authority granted to anyone in the NICS check bill. We (2A advocates) have been screaming for years "Enforce existing laws".. That's is all that the NI...

Re: Concealed Carry Reciprocity is on the Move: Your Lawmakers Need to Hear from You NOW!

There will be immense pressure by the Democratic party for the party members to vote against. That being said, I think contacting (D) congressmen and women is just as important, or more important than contacting (R) congresspeople. If the (D)'s get an onslaught of emails, phone calls, and faxes supp...

Re: Concealed Carry Reciprocity is on the Move: Your Lawmakers Need to Hear from You NOW!

Called my rep this morning. Aide was not able to tell me if he's for or against, but I'm going to guess with the capital (D) next to his name.

Re: Thinking About Defense of Others

In my opinion, no jury in Texas is going to convict you for walking past a 30.06 sign to save someone's life who is under active attack. You should be covered under a defense of necessity. Keep in mind that I'm not a lawyer, but I just don't see it happening. This attorney agrees with both of your ...

Moot point until SCOTUS recognizes the right to carry (aka "bear") firearms outside the home. Once that happens, I'm sure we can make the case and use this one as an example.

Re: What Would You Do?

Ensure we are both armed. Call 911. Wait for PD response without tipping the criminals, hoping the PD surprises them. Flip on lights if they approach the house, hoping they leave. If they try a forced entry, I would fire through the door/window from the side. You know they are armed. Active, armed ...

Re: Dallas homeowner in shootout with attempted armed robbers

Every day I think more about expending funds on high resolution security cameras for my home. Excellent idea. I have 2x 1080p Ethernet-over-power ( Pro Cameras and Pro Installed some 5-yrs ago or so) and believing due to the distance and wide angle. The image quality is like looking a monitor from ...
