Re: Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on the TexasCHLForum! I have many things to be thankful for this year. Not the least of which is that today, exactly 3 months after being laid off, I got a new full time job with benefits. Not going to have as much extra "guns, ammo and training" funds as th...

Have never cleaned or lubed a Glock or a Springfield prior. Right out of the box both brands run like a champ with no problems. After several mags, usually need a little lube. In fact and in practice, rarely need to clean at all.

Re: Police Chief Realizes Gun Missing - After 4 Days

It would appear that one Arizona police chief doesn't give a lot of attention to his service weapon. After a meeting in a library, he changed clothes in the rest room and left his gun behind. So far, not good - but it happens. However, he reportedly didn't notice it was missing for 4 days. Not good...

Re: Got started in .300 Blackout...

For my 10.5" BBL pistol, I went with the Primary Arms 3X Compact Prism Scope with the 7.62X39/300BO ACSS Reticle. The reticle is useful for both supersonic and subsonic.

Re: Copper Fouling in Pistol Barrels

Not clear that velocity is the root cause: It has been my experience in shooting a number of rifles and barrels used in 1000- yard rifles, that longer barrels and faster twists tend to foul more. And as Fred pointed out, this could be caused more by the long bullets (and the internal forces acting o...

Re: police/deputies/sherrifs and private communities

this is why I keep telling our community, you DON'T want gates. It wouldn't work for ours anyway, but gates cause nothing but expense and trouble. when you have gates, you own the roads, like was mentioned above, your HOA is the basically the property owner, they can't just come on private property...

Re: police/deputies/sherrifs and private communities

How many gates does your community have? Manned or unmanned? Do you have an HOA? Do you pay dues? Are your reserves fully funded? Can you afford to pay for a patrol? Is your community considered "limited access"? Does the HOA have any responsibility for limiting access or to provide "...

Re: This Gun Instructor Says Many Who Carry A Gun Aren't Trained To Respond To A Shooter

We all can benefit from formal training. This weekend I plan to attend a class on drawing from (under) concealment and shooting in low light to no light conditions. If you have never tried to draw while clearing your cover garment, or effectively deployed your handgun while also holding a flashligh...
