Re: What are your 2018 shooting goals?

Shot the dot torture target at the range yesterday morning before the ice'pocalpyse hit. Had one shot out of bounds, and it was on the easy two and two section. Had a great strong hand/support hand sequence to boot. I have may have said some unkind things blaming everything but the idiot holding the...

Re: New Spotting Scope: Bushnell Legend Tactical 15-45x60, lots of images

I've tinkered with a couple of digiscope adapters. Seems to be real hit and miss. Just ran across this: https://snakelook.com/products/spotting-scope-binocular-phone-adapter-digiscoping?variant=41218829443 That's priced right. If it doesn't work, not much crying involved. Some adapters are specific...

Re: NRA Carry Guard - Level 1 Training

Had a little Carry Guard tchotchke show up from NRA today, a challenge coin.

They weren't in vogue when I was in and so I've only got a handful. By far my favorite is from the '41 protective detail that an agent gave me.

Re: Winchester/NRA Marksmanship - challenging you!

My wife and I completed the DE level for three Pistol CoFs - Pistol, Defensive Pistol 1 and Defensive Pistol 2 (which doesn't appear to be available any longer). We both gained several benefits from it: Gave us a reason and purpose for going to the range. Required doing more at the range than just ...

Thanks for the reviews. One of the distributors I use sent one for evaluation. I'd been ignoring it until now.

Re: Walther CCP Disassembly and Reassembly Improved?

Not to my knowledge. I'm a big fan of the PPS, PPQ, and Creed, but not the CCP. Interesting idea but not a fun gun to clean or maintain.

Re: What are your 2018 shooting goals?

I am confident that I have achieved the 25% of Grand Master accuracy that Karl mentions in this artilcle on drills. http://blog.krtraining.com/handgun-world-podcast-top-10-drills-plus-2/ Some great drills there. "The Test" looks challenging. Going to have to try that one for sure. Dude th...

Re: Winchester/NRA Marksmanship - challenging you!

What I didn't cover in my initial post was why it took 2 years to complete. Pistol : This is where we started. Wasn't too technically challenging but it took time as we were running the NRA Marksmanship program once a month. Really a lot of fun shooting this with a group. Shot the Pistol course of f...

Re: What are your 2018 shooting goals?

i like that. ok where did you get the target? Found the target here: https://pistol-training.com/drills/dot-torture I’ve also started back shooting matches with the Dallas Action Pistol Shooters Club at the Elm Fork Gun Range. If anyone else here shoots there, let me know, and we can say Hi. Welcom...

Re: What are your 2018 shooting goals?

Just shooting more would be an accomplishment for me. I haven't really thought about this but I suppose I'd like to shoot a match of some kind and start going to the range with a purpose. I'll need to think on this more. Monty, not to pimp my other thread, but you want to shoot more take on the Win...

Winchester/NRA Marksmanship - challenging you!

Allow me to proselytize here for a bit about the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program. It's the booklet that comes in all your NRA instructor and student packs that everybody ignores*. Stop doing that. You're missing out on a great skills challenge and a lot of fun. Read about it here: ...

What are your 2018 shooting goals?

What are your shooting/training goals for 2018? I had a pretty good 2017 and punched some big ones off my list (a challenge I'm going to post in a separate thread). I really want to push myself this year. How about you? One thing I'm working on this year is pistol accuracy. I'm also in search of ano...
