Re: New sights recommendation for S&W Shield

I second the tfo's, you get nice bright fiber optic day sights and nice tritium night sights all in the same package.

Re: Hmmm. Google and "Smartgunlaws.org"

When I put in hearing protection act into Google the other day, the first result was a la times oped saying all criminals would be running around with suppressors. It also implied that if we are going to deregulate them might as well do hand grenades and land mines too as they were all regulated tog...

Re: XD, XDS, just any of them blah...

I didn't mind the grip on my xdm, I added some rubber talon grips and it is great. Tried a glock and don't have a problem with them, but the Springfield feels better in my hand. As for the grip safety I don't see what the big deal is I don't even notice it and as soon as I take a shooting grip the s...

Re: Replacing sights on Springfield XD9

So, i EDC a MOD2. I agree that the sights could be better. When they installed the sights, do they make sure it shoots accurately? What if you need to adjust the site because they put it on wrong? Both my factory XDm sights and the truglos I had them changed for hit right on without needing adjustm...

Re: Replacing sights on Springfield XD9

I shipped my slide to a Smith that specializes in xd's. Cost me about 30$ shipping included and got it back without a scratch. Was well worth it to me, site was www.xd-hs2000.com

Re: Ruger 10/22 Takedown, who has one, and which version?

I have fired several hundred rounds through that adapter with a suppressor without a problem I have no doubt, I'm just saying there is way too much room for error with this setup for me to feel comfortable with it. Especially when I weigh the time and money invested into one of my cans (even my rim...

Re: Ruger 10/22 Takedown, who has one, and which version?

I don't have a takedown but my 10/22 carbine has the same front sight as the 11100. I have an adapter that slips over the barrel and has 2 nuts to tighten it down behind the front sight keeping the sight serviceable and allowing for mounting a suppressor, all without any real modification of the ba...

Here is the adapter I have to retain factory front sights. Don't know if it would be something you would be interested in but it works well. http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo16/Brian_Medley/20161227_192829_zpsdrg3t61y.jpg http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo16/Brian_Medley/20161227_192819_zpsjd...

Re: Car carry and Drinking

I have my girlfriend drive me home occasionally if we go to a friends house and I actually decide to drink. I just stick my carry in the glove box and don't worry about it. Even when I'm doing that I'm usually not "drunk" but if I am drinking anything and she isn't why take the chance.

Re: I can't be the only one..

XDm 4.5 40S&W in a Wright leather works Dutch SOB worn all the way to my strong side. Usually don't bother with spare mags, if I can't get out of the situation with 17 rounds I probably shouldn't pull the gun to begin with. When I go to the city I do carry a spare 16 rounder though.

Re: Hedging the election

I have been considering a new ar lately but can't decide between another 556 setup more for close range (my current ar is a heavy barrel model with a 3x9 mounted on it) or go ahead and get an ar10 in 308. I saw a really nice ruger sr762 but it was out of my current price range.

Re: Full size carry

When I am going somewhere with crowds or am out in the woods I carry my xdm 4.5 40 own in a wright leather works holster. Untucked Magellan fishing shirt covers it just fine. The extra 10 rounds over the LCP I carry to work make me feel a lot better in crowded areas.
