Re: Please Recommend Eye Protection

Whatever you do try them on first before you buy. I was looking to replace my Oakleys and was looking at some Costa del Mar, I went and tried on several pairs and didn't like any of them. They were all very uncomfortable to me despite being ~200$ glasses. I shoot in either my Oakleys or another pair...

Re: How do I fry fish?

I use the Louisiana crispy batter, add a little cayenne to the batter, and put on some Tony's on the fish before I batter it. Personally I prefer the fish to be cut into bite size pieces before I fry it, it gets crispier that way. I do a lot of it on the stove and it works fine, also found that I ca...

Re: Colt 1911, 1913 production

When clearing it when I got to check it out, it is still very tight, feels pretty much like my much more modern rock island. It does need some cleaning though, felt some grit in the trigger when I pulled it to lower the hammer after clearing.

Re: Colt 1911, 1913 production

Just thought I'd share where it might be appreciated, my wife's father recently cane into possession of this colt 1911 that by serial number was produced in 1913. Not really sure what it would be worth, but it's still a nice gun that is in decent shape. He has shot it done and said it all works lik...

Re: At What Price Point For A Used Gun Do You Say No Thanks?

14 years ago, I purchased a new Taurus .38 All-titanium 850CIA hammerless with ported barrel for $369.95, and sold it to a DEALER for $325 last year; he sold it in two days. So, if it's no longer available new, it's worth more. Speaking of no longer available, I still have a pristine 12 ga. Winches...

When I go to California in May, I'll be bringing along my G26, and either my Mossberg 590A1 or my Marlin 336. I'll be towing a travel trailer, and plan on possibly overnighting at unimproved camping sites on the way. My wife will bring her G43. Just curious but I always thought you could not bring ...

Re: AR-15 Ammunition And Barrel Twist Rate

I use .223 winchester powermax bonded 64 grain HPs to deer hunt through my AR15. I usually shoot around 1 MOA with it through a 1:9 stainless bull barrel. Would another twist rate be more accurate? Possibly, but it shoots plenty well for deer out to 250.

Re: Calexit

Well, the picture is mocking California for its restrictive gun laws, saying that if it were to raise some sort of army that it would be armed with Nerf. Oregon has its problems, but terrible gun laws really aren't one of them. I'm definitely not a license plate aficionado, on a blurred or plate I ...

Re: Ammo question

You can use a 357 sig barrel in a 40 or vice versa, as long as they are a proper fit for the gun. Both won't work from the same barrel though. 357 sig is basically a 40 necked down to a 9mm.

Re: The State of Texas made a mistake? SAY IT AIN't SO!

I'm 30 now, didn't have to take a driving test at all. Took drivers Ed and I think we might have had to parallel park, I can still do it but with my truck that is an absolute last option.

Re: BUG 38 vs 380

My lcp is not a fun gun to shoot, however it is small, light, easy to conceal, and even though it isn't a fun shooter I can easily manage to empty it with only my off hand and it is totally manageable. The only real upside to the semis is if you get to that click and need to reload it.

Re: Olympic Arms is going out of business

I have an Olympic in 556 with a heavy barrel, actually a great gun and the cheapest heavy barrel I could find. But it's all about money, if there's no profit it's time to shut the doors.
