When clearing it when I got to check it out, it is still very tight, feels pretty much like my much more modern rock island. It does need some cleaning though, felt some grit in the trigger when I pulled it to lower the hammer after clearing.

Oh you found the .45 I carried for Officer of the Deck duty in US Navy in 1988.... :smilelol5: Probably saw service with the doughboys against Kaiser "Bill"... "rlol" "rlol" "rlol"
I'd love for it to be my 45, if it was I'd have to build a nice display for that one. Amazing that a 104 year old gun is still around and completely functional.

Colt 1911, 1913 production

Just thought I'd share where it might be appreciated, my wife's father recently cane into possession of this colt 1911 that by serial number was produced in 1913. Not really sure what it would be worth, but it's still a nice gun that is in decent shape. He has shot it done and said it all works like new.Image
