Re: State Trooper Killed Freestone County

I heard this morning his services are being held at the Mexia High School stadium.

Trooper Allen was liked and respected. Losing someone like that is a crying, senseless shame.

Re: State Trooper Killed Freestone County

This morning in Mexia there was a DPS car behind me for a mile or two. I continued north on 14, he turned east on 84, in the general direction of Fairfield.

I have no idea if that was Trooper Allen.

Stay safe, all, with emphasis on those who serve.

Re: Now this is the reason why I carry

About the scariest thing I can imagine is the offer of a fight over something meaningless. I've seen two situations that were bad, both in the local Wal Mart parking lot. Once, my wife and I got buzzed pretty close by some guy with a chip on his shoulder driving way too fast for a parking lot, the o...

Wow. I would find it very difficult to adjust to those conditions. Condition One being preferred by civilized society everywhere.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast

Dang, I wish I could make one of these. This weekend, I'll be providing moral support for my wife. She has a shoulder issue that needs attention and is scheduled for some kind of scan tomorrow morning.

Keep 'em flying.

Re: Man accidentally shoots himself, wife at church

One simply does not pull one's pop gun for show and tell any more than one removes one's foundation garments in public to show off how they complement the figure. It just isn't done. Cooper's Big Four are always at risk for embarrassment in such an act, and that seems to have played out here. My onl...

Re: Getting my CHL back after DWI Suspension

Dwhale, based on everything being as presented, you sound worthy of a second chance. For full disclosure, that was not my first perspective, but it sounds like you may have had a lapse in judgement. Barely over the limit, no problems with guns, a suspension by side effect. You were over the civilize...

Signed it.

Also signed a petition for declaring Antifa a terrorist organization, which had already succeeded it's target.

Re: Really Ticked Off

Sounds like the answer to both questions is “no.”

I have no problem with the concept that not everyone deserves access to firearms. I have great disagreement with prohibition or denial of rights without due process.

Re: Equifax fiasco

Got a credit card statement today for a card I haven't used in months with about $300 in charges in New York. The Bronx, specifically, for whom everyone's favorite cheer is named. Capital One has been decent about it so far. It would be very difficult to make a case the charges are mine. Here's hopi...

Re: Really Ticked Off

"Really ticked off" sounded sort of a dull note to me. If I were denied my license, I would rise to the charge, present a credible counterargument, seek corrective action, or any of a number of more positive things than anger. I would probably be critical of any willful mistakes on the par...

What a horror, and what a clear mandate for reasonable men and women of good character to be armed.
