Re: 21 or older to buy AR-15?

I'll be really surprised if the issue of high(?) capacity magazines doesn't come up again real soon. I, for one, won't have a problem with it. < snip > Since we're on the subject, where is the big objection to shotguns being limited to three shots for fur and feathers. That has been the rule ever s...

Re: I want to keep my guns.

You would think this would be a great time to pass national reciprocity. The gun grabbers want background checks, us license holders volunteered to such a strict standard we don't need no stinkin' gun counter check. Been there, done that. We registered ourselves on a list and got fingerprinted. We f...

Re: I guess this life style change is working

I'm very happy I skipped the flu shot this year. I got the bug, was on my butt for about 4 days, and it was another week after that before I was worth shooting. Even then, I didn't exactly qualify for major caliber. When I collected myself from the flu, I discovered I'd broken the Dr. Pepper and hea...

Re: Prominent Republican Donor Issues Ultimatum on Assault Weapons

What a moron.

I must say, although the new has worn off of carrying, it is always a warm feeling to be armed. I’m trusted, as all free citizens should be, and I’m not helpless.

Guns have a very positive side. What’s so hard to understand?

I can just hear the laconic tones of Roy D. Mercer. "You're a hit man? How hard were you hit, and how big a fella are you?"

Alternatively, respond with “I deal in lead, friend. Bring it on, but you should know that I eat weenies like you for breakfast. You’re going to have to get up early, pack a big lunch, and bring a lot of friends. I’ll be waiting. This is going to be FUN!!!” Oh, yes, in the case of plato o plo...

good grief, I thought this thread had died. sigh.... 1. I don't believe I ever said I would or I wouldn't have drawn on the guy. I said..."if he had intended me harm, I wouldn't have had time to do anything" I also said that he shouldn't have been there, the polite thing would have been t...

Re: You missed one of the great Super Bowl games!

Super Bowl 30 was interesting, although I thought it was a hoax at first - and maybe it was. Before the NFL grabbed it up, somebody registered the domain superbowlxxx.com and put a one-page web site there advertising the presumably XXX rated International Gay Bowlers Association. The NFL was not app...

Re: Concealed carry pants, reinforced waistline *patent pending

Good thinking. For completeness, though, the stiffener would need to be removable. Not only would that solve problems related to laundry and clothes storage, it would open up a whole new market. Instead of removing the belt, nudists could remove the pants and still use your product. :biggrinjester: ...

Re: Memphis, TN: Moronic social media challenge ends with gunshot to the head

You know, if you want to draw on a friend, even dry fire on a lifelong buddy, large mirrors work great. It is different when a dry fire practice target, reflected in a mirror, is drawing on you as you try to find your front sight. An unrecommendable drill, of course, in the present world. No way wou...

Re: Texas Military Forces Directive on Personally Owned Firearms

KWTX in Waco ran a story yesterday about several gun thefts from unlocked cars, which, of course, is a real brain burp on the part of a gun owner. No telling whether or not the theft victims were licensed or not. A Waco PD spokesperson warned against leaving guns in cars. The anchors stated the same...

Re: Texas Military Forces Directive on Personally Owned Firearms

Wow! I seem to remember a State ad slogan, something about "Texas friendly." Sounds like a prime example. There is a museum I've been wanting to visit at Camp Mabry in Austin, but I haven't been too keen on disarming. No special reason, other than I really don't like messing with my pistol...

Re: Kahr P9

I have a Kahr PM9 and really like it. Takedown isn't that bad. You pull the slide back to a disassembly notch. The slide release requires a bit of oomph to get out because a spring clip retains the slide release. I use a plastic screwdriver handle to push against the pin. Reassembly is easy, but the...
