Re: Kahr P9

I have a Kahr PM9 and really like it. Takedown isn't that bad. You pull the slide back to a disassembly notch. The slide release requires a bit of oomph to get out because a spring clip retains the slide release. I use a plastic screwdriver handle to push against the pin. Reassembly is easy, but the...

Unbelievable stuff, isn't it? Bestiality and pedophilia mixed together. I hope I don't have nightmares.

Re: Clinton Body Count

Being of a nature to appreciate harmlessly disgusting things, I did a search for Podesta's taste in art. There is nothing harmless about Podesta's art. This is not pull-my-finger rowdy humor. My advice, don't look. Don't search for John Podesta's artwork. I found an article showing a couple of sick ...

Re: Questions About LEO's Asking For ID's When I'm Simply Passenger

I believe the below statements to be true. If not, please educate me. a) If you are contacted by a LEO as a vehicle passenger and are carrying a handgun (with a valid Texas handgun license), whether it is concealed or openly carried, you do not, by law, have to produce your driver’s license or Texa...

Re: GAO: Study on Attempts to buy guns on internet

Hooray for us, the law-abiding majority of gun enthusiasts. They probably missed another point. I imagine if it gets out a gun dealer will make shady deals, he'll lose his law-abiding market. I know I wouldn't have anything to do with an iffy gun shop, and it's not just because I've turned into a ha...

Re: My Water Line Burst

We live on sandy ground, and have had buried line freeze in 30 degree weather. I know nobody else has that trouble, but if anything can go wrong with home systems, it will. At least for me. Dripping the faucets is a cure-all for freezes around here - but beware the gremlins that turn the faucets bac...

Re: The prodigal returns home

There is nothing like a 1911. I know there are differing opinions, and to each his own - but there's nothing like a 1911. My old Government Model isn't just another unit off an assembly line, it's an old friend. I've been trying to think of the right word to describe what really comes to bear on a t...

Re: "Gun-Buster" Sign Legal?

Gun buster signs have zero legal force. They mean nothing to you as an LTC. Nothing. Except to inform you that the owner apparently doesn't want guns in his establishment. Not necessarily. Let's say you see this sign posted somewhere: https://i.imgur.com/WhwgNzu.jpg Does it mean: 1. "The owner...

Re: Queen SheJack in the news again

Kudos to the poster who found the perfect moniker for the, cough, Honorable Ms. Lee. I haven't made a study of Her Hagness and I was appalled to see she actually demanded to be treated like a queen because of her royal status. I'm with Mark Twain on the subject of royalty. It's buffoonery at the sur...

Re: Annoying Trends.

All of my guns have occupied chambers. I don't discriminate by size...lol. A long gun carried condition one is really no different than a handgun carried the same way. If I were to sling an AR and carry it down the sidewalk, it would be in condition one. An empty chamber is a liability. Would I car...

Re: Annoying Trends.

It's not the itty-bittyness of the gun, it's the itty-bittyness of the group at 25. :biggrinjester: I don't like pocket carry and never do it. If I had to, I guess I would, but only with a safe holster. Criticism of open carry is at least a little different from criticism of the right to open carry....

Re: Police Negligent Discharge Study - Results Not What You Might Think

We had an ND by a Deputy at the County Jail, becasue he had disarmed by removing his pistol from the holster (instead of removing the holstered pistol). When replacing his pistol, he had his keys in his hand, and one of them caught on the trigger. Sounds like McLennan County - there was an incident...

Re: Gun Buster Signs

So a gun buster sign is legal, but only applies to people already prohibited from carrying firearms? Not trying to pop off, just trying to see what use a gun buster sign has. I generally go elsewhere because I figured there's other baggage going along with the anti-gun nonsense, but I also feel the ...

Re: Recommend an AR at $700 max

Another nice outfit is https://fungunswaco.com. I believe most of their staff are veterans. They sometimes run the most wonderfully politically incorrect TV ads during the local 10 o'clock news, and they get some angry email in return. Apparently, some folks think it takes a lot of gall to show semi...
