Am a Brit on a work Visa (been in Texas 4 yrs) and did it using my I94/hunting license....only took a couple of weeks to arrive so I can also add that it is possible and fully legal.

Class = 02/08
Qual = 02/11
Online Application submitted = 02/12
Fingerprints taken = 02/14 (had an issue where the fingerprinting system didn't get confirmation for a while)
Required documents uploaded = 02/16

Just finished my Class at Frisco Gun Club...managed to get a groupon for 2 people at $69 Only issue is that the Class and Qual are on separate days, Class is Sat or Sunday with Free Qual on Tuesday or Wednesday.
