Dana Loesch Moving Due to Threats of Violence

National Rifle Association spokesperson Dana Loesch said Sunday she was preparing to move from her home "due to repeated threats from gun control advocates." http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/10/16/dana-loesch-forced-to-move-due-to-repeated-threats-from-gun-control-advocates.html

Re: Thoughts on [Pre-paid legal service]

For some reason that I've never understood, it seems to me that the owners and/or moderators of this site do not want to allow discussion of insurance and/or prepaid legal services for legal defense of armed self defense encounters. I think a lot of people would benefit from that discussion, but it'...

Re: Take a Knee Updated

Meanwhile, right here in the heart of Texas, at a couple of HIGH SCHOOL games Friday night in the Austin area: Before kickoff of the Austin High-Crockett contest at House Park, a group of about a half a dozen Maroons football players kneeled on the sideline during the playing of the national anthem....

Re: Take a Knee Updated

Somewhat surprisingly (to me), only slightly over half of the population see kneeling before the flag during the National Anthem as inappropriate behavior, according to this poll. Fifty-five percent of voters in the latest Fox News poll see kneeling during the national anthem as an inappropriate for...

Re: Take a Knee Updated

Eugenia McDowell’s son, a 6-year-old student at Wiregrass Elementary School in Pasco County, took a knee during his classroom’s Pledge of Allegiance on Monday “What he did was have a difference of opinion. He was not being disrespectful. He was silently protesting and exercising his constitutional ...

Re: "Concealed Handgun Licensing: Asset to Texas" by Howard Nemerov

Very impressive, indeed. Numbers that we as a group can be rightly proud of.

Yet, after so many years of such impressive stats, we are still not trusted enough to carry our holstered, self-defense firearm in so many places.

Frustrating.

So We're Just NOW Getting There?

Quote from the new Dallas County District Attorney, Faith Johnson, during an interview with KXAS anchor Meredith Land: "What...um... I want to leave as a legacy is for the people of Dallas county to finally take a - to take a deep breath and say: 'Huuuuh [exhales]. We finally got justice. For e...

Re: Tennessee woman shoots homeless man

Something smells pretty fishy here. I mean, even besides the lame story of firing two warning shots with your eyes closed and nailing the guy solidly with both shots. ... is being held on a $25,000 bond. So she's driving a Porsche. Daddy's an attorney. And between the both of them, they can't scrape...

Hospital has stopped cops from interacting with medical staff. That will now be handled by hospital administrative personnel only. Actions have consequences.

Re: ER nurse illegally detained?

I'm always curious in situations like this: what would have been the outcome if there was no video? What if it were just an old fashioned "he said/she said." That's just a rhetorical question, BTW. I'm pretty confident of what the outcome would have been without video. I just don't underst...

Re: Carrying in Katy after the storm

Sounds like a very good encounter to me. Good that you were paying attention; good that you noticed; good action on your part; good outcome - for you and him. What's not to like? And not that you do, but don't feel guilty in any way. If he truly needed some kind of help, there are literally dozens o...

Re: More Military Equipment for Cops

The problem isn't them HAVING the equipment for contingency use. The problem is that most of the time, once they have it they feel they have to use it just to prove they needed it. That's how the overuse of SWAT teams got out of hand. Got to justify the money spent. I think Pawpaw and I are thinkin...

Update Question

Sorry if this has already been discussed lately. I did a quick search of the forum, but didn't see any recent information. So what's the latest situation with the AG's investigation of the Waller county courthouse carry prohibition? I recall that a local Waller county judge had ruled that the prohib...
