Re: Predator Control. Repel or Kill?

Armadillo are the problem around my place. They dig up the yard, burrow under the house slab and under the propane tank. I've got two traps set out now for several nights, but no luck. I've stayed up all night and literally patrolled around the place with the shotgun a couple of nights over the las...

Re: Palo Duro Canyon State Park / Texas Outdoor Musical?

You'll almost surely need reservations for the show. We've been to the canyon several times over the years, but only able to do the show this last time, with reservations made several weeks in advance. But well worth the effort, in my opinion. We didn't do the meal, so can't say about that.

Re: Palo Duro Canyon State Park / Texas Outdoor Musical?

Wife and I went 3 or 4 years ago. We were on the motorcycle, staying in a motel in Amarillo (the one with the steak eating contest thing - I forget the name of it). Seems like the trip was a little less than an hour (30 or 40 minutes) from there, but I don't remember for sure. We really enjoyed the ...

Re: This sends a pretty strong message.

A very good, thought-provoking video. I had seen it before, posted somewhere else on this forum, but it is still very powerful imagery, even after having seen it multiple times. But I notice some folks had some questions about some of the details in this fictitious occurrence. So, even though it's a...

Re: Got this shotgun for $69

...I bet the 12 gauge kicks like a mule. Yep. It does. I know because I have that exact model. If nothing else, it might be a good therapy tool. Way back long ago, when I might have had a particularly frustrating day at work every now and then, sometimes after I got home I would get that old shotgu...

It's a "Violation of Privacy!"

Seems that the young people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school in Florida are getting a little taste of the medicine that they normally try to force down our throats. And they don't like it! https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/how-parkland-students-feel-about-their-mandatory-clear-backpacks/ar-AA...

Re: Parkland survivor David Hogg

With all this talk of kids getting more and more political (including an item I just read today about elementary school kids kneeling while PERFORMING the national anthem at a ball game), I took some time just now to go back and watch an old movie called "Wild in the Streets," made back in...

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

You can tell me that Trump is playing chess and the democrats are playing checkers or Trump is playing long ball or what ever other euphemism you wish but unfortunately I think Trump just rolled over like a good puppy dog and became part of the swamp. :mad5 :iagree: "Won't do it again." T...

Re: More "Compromise"

Omnibus bill passed Congress. Waiting Trumps signature. He's threatening veto, but I don't think that's likely. In the Senate, Cornyn voted for, Cruz voted against. My local Rep, Ratcliffe, voted against. Seems to me that Cornyn needs to be replaced. John Lott says we should be concerned. The millio...

2. I never thought National Reciprocity would pass, so I guess I'm not surprised. I thought it might at least have a chance. Especially when it was tied to "Fix NICS." With that, at least there was some spirit of compromise - we give you that, you give us this. But now, with Fix NICS abou...

More "Compromise"

Republicans’ Omnibus Bill: More Background Check Gun Laws, No Concealed Carry Reciprocity "Fix NICS" included in Republican omnibus bill; reciprocity is not included. No big surprise, I suppose. At least now it's officially out there. I think I'll invent a new term for this kind of situat...

Re: Beyond the One Percent: How do we get more people to attend training beyond the state minimum?

One way would be a tiered CHL. Something like everyone gets a level 1 that applies and passes, like now. Level 2 requires xx hours additional training and xxx rounds additional fire at maybe 80% rather than the 70% level 1. Those with level 2 can carry anywhere in the state regardless of signage. L...
