Re: Fine or Theft??

Government approved and SCOTUS sanctioned theft. King George would be proud. :iagree: Well, I agree with the statement, that is. The statement is true; the practice is abhorrent. But it has been deemed by courts all over the land to be a legal practice. And somehow we mere citizens have not been ab...

Re: Carrying on reservations

There is one place north east of Houston - the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation. I don't know any of the history or how it came about or anything like that. Interestingly, though, they did have a casino there for a while. I know because my wife and I were there visiting at the time. This was lo...

Re: Compact 45 for concealment

I have an XD Sub-Compact .45 that I really like. Real sweet to shoot. But I keep a light attached to it and an extended magazine installed for 13+1 capacity and use it strictly for my night-stand gun. For actually carrying , I switch out between my officer-size 1911 Colt Defender and STI Esco...

Re: Carrying on reservations

It's difficult to make a blanket statement of how it would be handled since there are many different reservations in many states and each tribe is independent of the other. The website http://handgunlaw.us/# has some good resources on multiple Indian Nations in multiple states (look under "Indian Na...

Pro 2A Parkland Student Interrogated by Sheriff Deputies

Incredible. :mad5 Kyle Kashuv, the pro-2A student who survived the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, went to a range for the first time this weekend with his father. He shared photos and comments on social media of his first day on a range. At school today, he was summoned...

Re: Predator Control. Repel or Kill?

Armadillo are the problem around my place. They dig up the yard, burrow under the house slab and under the propane tank. I've got two traps set out now for several nights, but no luck. I've stayed up all night and literally patrolled around the place with the shotgun a couple of nights over the las...

Re: Palo Duro Canyon State Park / Texas Outdoor Musical?

You'll almost surely need reservations for the show. We've been to the canyon several times over the years, but only able to do the show this last time, with reservations made several weeks in advance. But well worth the effort, in my opinion. We didn't do the meal, so can't say about that.

Re: Palo Duro Canyon State Park / Texas Outdoor Musical?

Wife and I went 3 or 4 years ago. We were on the motorcycle, staying in a motel in Amarillo (the one with the steak eating contest thing - I forget the name of it). Seems like the trip was a little less than an hour (30 or 40 minutes) from there, but I don't remember for sure. We really enjoyed the ...

Re: This sends a pretty strong message.

A very good, thought-provoking video. I had seen it before, posted somewhere else on this forum, but it is still very powerful imagery, even after having seen it multiple times. But I notice some folks had some questions about some of the details in this fictitious occurrence. So, even though it's a...
