Re: Enterprise Car Rental Drops the NRA

LifeLock has bailed. Even the underwriter that covers the new NRA self defense insurance, if I'm understanding that correctly. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/corporate-america-under-pressure-to-cut-ties-with-nra/ar-BBJuUAl?ocid=spartandhp The latest company to distance itself from the NRA...

Re: So the President is a Gun Free Zone?

Again, anyone know the specific law? 18 USC 1752 appears to be what you want. Yep, looks like that's what I was looking for. Thanks, Clever. I had done some searching, but apparently didn't put the right words together. So, rights, privledges... eh, whatever. :evil2: Just curious...not really relat...

Re: So the President is a Gun Free Zone?

Here's another example I found: https://www.cnn.com/2017/04/27/politics/secret-service-trump-nra-guns/index.html The US Secret Service said Thursday attendees at President Donald Trump's speech Friday at the [2017] National Rifle Association's annual meetings in Atlanta will have to leave their fire...

So the President is a Gun Free Zone?

Yeah, I guess I knew that (or would assume that). Anyone know right off-hand the specific federal law that gives all the details (occasions, conditions, distances, persons [President, Vice-President, Speaker, Cabinet member(s)], etc.)? Just idle curiosity. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/02/19/...

Yes.

Just my opinion, but I just don't see how we can keep it from happening pretty soon. We have too many politicians now who support only the rear end (butt) of the 2nd Amendment. ("I support the 2nd Amendment, but...").

Re: Interesting Non Car Buying Experience

Well, it's all done now! :anamatedbanana A lady friend of ours at church had recently bought a new vehicle. She was very pleased with her whole experience and so recommended a specific salesman at another dealership. After our original place blew up our deal in F&I, we were planning on visiting ...

Re: Interesting Non Car Buying Experience

Good news. I called my credit card company this morning. They transferred me to the GM Redemption Center. I explained the situation to a gentleman there. He put me on hold, then came back literally about one minute later and said: "Ok, your rewards balance has been restored." Very nice. :a...

Interesting Non Car Buying Experience

Long, but may be interesting and/or enlightening. Well, as of Saturday morning, I thought my wife and I would be driving a new car to church on Sunday. But, as the thread title implies, we were in our old car at church Sunday morning instead! So we spent most of Friday afternoon at a local new...

Re: Warrantless Search of a motorcycle

I fully understand the argument that a motor vehicle is easily mobile so the search is justifiable without a warrant, IF there is probable cause. Personally, I DON'T get that. What difference does it make if it's a car (or motorcycle or go-cart) and it's mobile? They had mobile vehicles and transpo...

Re: Warrantless Search of a motorcycle

For what they're worth, my ideas are embedded in the abbreviated quote below: Issue 1. Does a police officer need a warrant to walk onto your property that is not gated? I would say no. ... I guess I'm not getting what difference it would make if the property were gated or not, it's still private pr...

Re: Gun shots in celebration of the coming of 2018.

In talking to my wife yesterday (January 1), I realized one of my near-by neighbors probably did this very thing. We were already in bed (we're old - been there, done that! ) I was already asleep, but she normally stays up late, so she was in bed, but wasn't asleep. About 12:30 AM she wakes me...

Wow, J.R., that's weird. I just read that passage just this morning! Hadn't thought of it in that context, though. Something to think about, for sure.
