Re: Franklin Armory coming out with non-NFA 11.5” AR variant

Automatic is defined as one (unreleased) pull that fires more than one round. Release is not part of definition. I don't know where you got that definition of automatic, but I used the 26 U.S.C. § 5845(b) definition of machine gun. I think the ATF does too. Yep. Single function of a trigger. ...

Ike Aramba wrote:So, what if it fired multiple bulets on the release of the trigger???

If it fires multiple rounds with one trigger action, it's a machine gun.

very interesting. while I know the laws are goofy & illogical, how is that not a rifle? It is not a rifle because either: A. It has no rifling as defined by BATFE, and / or; B. It is not semi-automatic or automatic fire as defined by BATFE. The trigger they are showing in promotional materials ...

... unless I was going to immediately fire in fear for my life. To clarify, fear alone is not enough for deadly force to be justified. One that is in fear for their life because the OP is the aggressor with the means to immediately and imminently cause severe bodily harm or death to you and / or yo...

Re: MI:Former Marine charged with assault with attempt to murder after defending his family

Another report I saw on a different forum said the guy was "fleeing" when he was shot. If true, the shooter did not have justification. Especially in Michigan. Unless the threat is immediate and imminent and within 21 feet and the firearm is the last resort, then this guy has a tough road...

... Noah Dukart told KTTC-TV. “Then my friend said, ‘I dare you,’ and he shot him right in the heart.”

Everyone knows that self defense applies as a legal defense only on double dog dares.

Seeings how there is no such thing as a former Marine, I would consider this to be fake news.

Re: Blind student

Are there provisions for an oral exam instead of written? Personally the only time I would be comfortable with a blind person shooting in self defense is if the bad guy was in physical contact with him. Just like I, as a person with sight, would not shoot in the dark. Isn’t one of the safety montra...

Re: Blind student

I shot my qualification with my eyes closed as a bet with the instructor who said I could not get a perfect score with a 45. If being effectively blind is ok, being actually blind should be too. As a LTC instructor myself, I have not encountered someone that was even legally blind, but I do not reca...

The only tragedy here is the taxpayer cost of emergency medical services to render aid to a victim of poor shot placement. I fully support the one shot one kill rule.

Re: Pulled over for speeding - you won't believe what happened next!

Sort of a different encounter I had many years ago. Sometime around 1993 or so. I was working on a phone system at a DPS station in the San Antonio area. I had been there for about a week so kind of started getting to know a few of the officers. One day I got into a conversation with one of them ab...

Re: Petition to save the Alamo Cenotaph

Petitions and politeness have proven to be ineffective - these tyrants do what they want, and it is usually with our hard earned tax dollars. At some point, true patriots will have to step up and fight and die for what is right. Remember the Alamo! We need to remind Bush about what happened at San ...

Re: What knife do you carry?

A more interesting question is how do you train to defend yourself with the edge weapon you EDC? Also a different question. A lot like your favorite pair of shoes is different question from how to use your shoes and feet for self defense. I'm carrying a Kershaw Leek now. Also, I'm wearing Aldo snea...
