Re: Tool box for an 11 year old.

I'd suggest a small level, so he can help with hanging picture frames & such. If you have plans to build any structures or a fence in the near future a line level would be good as well. Maybe even a small combo square.

Re: Firearm email spam

So I wonder who I signed up with sold my email. Fortunately I have a very robust spam filter so none are hitting my in box. But still, the only reason I can think of that would all of a sudden cause firearm related spam emails hitting me is that I signed up somewhere and they are selling email addr...

Re: Taking CHL class in Michigan

:iagree: Both of the above comments are spot on. To more clearly answer your question, there is no such thing as 'transfering' an out of state License to Carry (LTC/CHL/CCP/or whatever name the issuing state calls it). If Texas accepts the issuing state's LTC under reciprocity, then you can legally ...

Re: Vehicle Carry

Unfortunately I cannot carry my firearm except after work when I get home. My employer frowns upon firearms on the property. heck, you cant even mistakenly have a loose round that you accidentally dropped in your vehicle from a weekend shoot. The punishment is severe and you have to go to court to ...

http://www.silverdoctors.com/headlines/world-news/sd-contact-something-very-odd-about-the-las-vegas-shooters-weapons/ Odd about the Las Vegas shooters weapons, from some one that knows a lot more than me. My knowledge about rifles still will fit in a thimble. Please debunk for me. Sorry, there's to...

Re: October Breast Cancer Awareness Targets

For the LTC Proficiency: "All courses of fire will be scored on a standard B-27 target. The B-27 target must be 24 inches by 45 inches and may be one of four colors; black, blue, red, or green." This is from the Admin Code, here: http://texreg.sos.state.tx.us/public/readtac$ext.TacPage?sl=...

Re: Instructor proficiency - LTC-8?

I'm not doubting that someone from RSD told you that, however it was asked during the Instructor Renewal Class, & the RSD rep there (don't recall her name, but she spoke with authority & generally was able to cite where info could be found in the Admin Rules for pretty much any off the wall ...

Re: Another vehicle question

My understanding of Texas Penal Code 42.01(a)(8) is that you're probably fine unholstering in certain reasonable circumstances, like storing or removing from storage, as long as you take every reasonable step to ensure you are not causing alarm. In order for you to be charged with disorderly conduc...

Re: Felony Reduced to Misdemeanor...DENIED.

Your appeal isn't with the DPS, it is before a County Judge/Magistrate/Justice of the Peace (local to you). The DPS may send a representative to explain their findings & logic behind the denial, but the decision to grant your license or not will rest with your local court. You have 30 days to no...

Thank you for posting this, and Praise God for armed citizens that aren't afraid to be good human beings. Praying for an emotional recovery for the victim (and likely some needed for all that stopped to assist).

Re: HOA Community Club House

30.06 & 30.07 both contain the clause "without effective consent". If the instructor has consent (ie, permission) from the HOA (as in Board of Directors, Clubhouse manager, etc), then I would think the signage would not apply for this case. (The sign would be a good visual aid for that...
