Re: RV, camper van, site trailer, and work truck carry considerations

Wow, welcome to the forum! You are brand new here, & you've already opened a very thoughtful discussion & brought a specific topic to discuss. Thanks! I typically recommend to avoid posting signs such as the one in your image, for two reasons: 1. It implies that you own firearms, & firea...

Re: KY: Woman shoots knife-wielding attacker in neck

Another possibility is that she could have been inducing a malfunction if she was pressing the gun into his neck (placing it out of battery until she backed off slightly, allowing it to go back into battery).

Either way, kudos to her for surviving this attack.

Re: Gun Buster Signs

Allow me to explain my logic please. It really makes the beauty of the 30.06/07 law more clear and something to be thankful for. I have been saying all along that the 30.06/30.07 sign in Texas is a blessing for us and we need not be bad mouthing it. Obviously, I agree. Criminal Trespass is a violat...

Re: So many unanswered questions.....

I hope this doesn't cause HEB to change their policy, they are currently just 30.07. Hopefully not, since it would seem that the guy has been charged with unlawful carry of a weapon, thus a 30.06 sign wouldn't have applied to him anyway. I'm going on the assumption that he doesn't have an LTC. Poli...

Re: Blind student

Here's my scrape at this one: Is there a law prohibiting it? (No) Is there an Administrative Code rule prohibiting it? (No). Does the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) require reasonable accommodations be made? (Yes; and the Admin Code allows for the Written Exam to be administered orally to tho...

Re: Disappointed on LTC Waiting time

I received feedback from a student a few days ago. He submitted his LTC-100 on 14 December, & received his LTC in the mail on 6 January. Including weekends & two major holidays, that was only 23 days. (Not trying to rub it in or make you feel worse; your frustration is understandable. Just p...

Re: Intoxicated man found with small arsenal on top floor of Hyatt Regency downtown

Gun show at the George R Brown Convention Center yesterday & today. Another commenter mentioned competitions in Houston area this weekend as well, but I haven't seen a link to that in my limited Google search. If it was indeed a rifle, a pistol, and a shotgun (not really a small arsenal in my bo...

Re: "Gun-Buster" Sign Legal?

Gun buster signs have zero legal force. They mean nothing to you as an LTC. Nothing. Except to inform you that the owner apparently doesn't want guns in his establishment. Wonderful. That owner is BOUND... Let me repeat... That owner is BOUND... I don't think you heard me...that owner is BOUND lega...

Re: "Gun-Buster" Sign Legal?

WOW! The DPS is starting to show a kind of deterioration of there understanding of the law and how it is written. This was evident at the instructors renewal class this year. I was hoping they were just having a bad day. I disagree with the statement above. There is no deterioration in my opinion. ...

Re: "Gun-Buster" Sign Legal?

I'm splitting hairs here, but 1) if I have an LTC, and 2) there is no valid 06/07 up that tells me the "no guns" sentiment applies to LTC's as well as the common horde then IF they somehow figure out I'm carrying and ask me to leave and I DON'T, wouldn't I be arrested under 30.05 rather t...

Re: Would You Tell?

Having your LTC is no secret from any LEO. Why do you think this? If they run your DL# it will show them immediately that you have your LTC. Or at least that's what I've been told. Yes, but only if they have a need to do that. I have not had any LEO "run" my DL in a very long time. The fa...

Re: PA: Philly wants "Freedom to rob". Bill to ban bulletproof glass passes committee

I worked on a government facility (not saying who or where) it had shooting ports through the bullet resistive wall. In another one the solid walls below the plexiglass had what was called ballistic fibreglass panels behind the Sheetrock. It was a really cool material, had never seen it before. I h...

Re: Ever Shoot with No Ear Protection for Training?

:iagree:
And the stress level to invoke auditory exclusion won't likely be there when training, so shooting without ear protection to simulate what you'd experience is kinda moot point anyway. Other than the ringing in the ears after the fact...
