Re: NCAD is at again

Appraisal districts are not government agencies. They are a agency created to represent governments. They do not have to follow the same guidelines with respect to weapons that a city or county government would. The appraisal districts determine the value of property. They give that information to ...

Re: Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Active Shooter

Interesting play by play of what happened. Rather long but lots of info in it. This guy most likely saved his gf’s as well as his own life.

Re: Gun shows posted 30.06 / 30.07

With the exception of the gun show, specifically- I think you and I agree on this subject. I'm apt to carry where legal, unless I know there is a metal detector or LEO working the door for that purpose. If it’s a govt building and legal and they are using LEO and metal detector to prevent carry fil...

Re: NCAD is at again

I received a very good email today from CCPD. It wasn’t surprising since I recently FOIA requested from NCAD the security policies/guidelines for the guards (private and offduty PD) working the metal detector and the security contracts. I only received the private security contract. Nothing from PD ...

Re: Clearing Overgrown Land

I like the nail in a bag idea and even thought about digging a slit trench that would catch someone's front-end, but the more reasonable side of me thought like others, probably not the best idea if I want to stay out of legal troubles. Your caution is wise. A landowner owes few duties to a trespas...

Re: State Fair - Again

The point of my telling this story is that it seems ironic that a small pocket knife is illegal but a loaded, concealed .45 is not. We had a great time at the fair. Sorry, I am not current on knife rules. I thought Texas had passed a law allowing a lot more knife carry, so why would they stop the k...

Can they legally restrict firearms? I thought only the terminal was considered the secure area of an airport.

Re: Carry at work, but only if...

Almost sounds like some of the requirements that schools districts require for their teachers to carry at school. Nothing in that list seems unreasonable except possibly the waiver (depending upon what you are waiving)

Re: Photobucket ruined the internet

Well now for some good news. The photos are not completely lost, they still can be accessed directly on Photobucket's site. This assumes that the account is still active. You can copy the URL to the picture and then paste it in your address bar and it will take you directly to the image. As a bonus...

Re: Advice/Input on Making a Supply Run to Houston

Folks have been using the Zello walkie talkie app to communicate the rescues in the Houston area. I think the channels were Cajun Navy, Texas navy. You could ask someone there on site where its most needed as well as roads open.

My Harvey experience

A couple of thoughts on my mind that have come about from my experience with Harvey and the trip fleeing the storm and the return home. It started out being stuck in a grain line trying to find a ride and a home for Julie's horse and thinking you just got to have faith. I found it at the Alice sale ...

Watch for the Indian reservations. Laws change there as you are considered in their nation not the USA.
