Re: Frank Hamer book

I read this book last year after someone had recommended it here on the forum. Best read I have had in a long time and I have recommended it to several myself. I am not exactly a big read but I flew through this one.

Re: MTM Ammo Crate

These things are great. I have several already and could use more. Work great for organizing the car trunk as well; rain gear, extra clothes, bug out gear, first aid, etc.

Emails sent to Governor Abbott and to Representative Capriglione. I will have to follow up with phone calls as well.

Road Trip

As a Texas resident LTC with no other states' license...

It looks like a road trip through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, into Florida is going to be pretty much business as usual. Just pay attention to the gunbuster signs.

Any advice or suggestions along said route?

Thanks

Re: Great Ruger customer service

Likewise, I have had excellent customer service from Ruger. Purchased a new 10-22 with fiber optic sights. I did not notice on my transfer inspection the from sight was broken. After realizing it at home and as I recall, I emailed Ruger, explaining it was my oversight, to ask what the cost was for a...

Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?

Thank yous all around! I've got beacoup $$ invested in Yaesu digital rig, but still prefer my Pofung HT for everything except when I'm on RACES weather watch. RoyGBiv, I got my Tarrant County RACES card last month. Time to get a mobile rig to get in there with. The Yaesu digital mobiles have r...

Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?

Well, I am now as over-licensed as I can get. Passed a level 4 test tonight to upgrade to Amateur Extra.

And, I'm still running with only a Chinese HT and mag mount antenna. :???:

Re: What's Your Preferred Grain in 9mm for range and s.d.?

124gr +P Gold Dot for SD. I haven't shopped for opinions / ballistic tests in while though so thank you for this thread. tnoutdoors9 and his various ballistic tests weighed heavily when I did. I prefer 124gr Speer FMJ at the range, but I won't frown on a deal for 115gr plinking either. 124gr Winches...

Re: Secret Service agent shoots himself on duty

The story has been updated to clarify it was a "special officer," not an "agent." I am guessing "special officer" is a lesser being in the Secret Service galaxy. Yes, you are correct. https://www.secretservice.gov/join/careers/special-officers/ They carry Sigs also? I ...

Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?

Pass my tech exam today with 100% correct; I was surprised! Tried to go General at the same time and missed that one by four questions. Not surprised that about that at all since I hadn't looked at question 1 on the general pool... Now I wait! Congrats TexasJohnBoy! To those looking at testing for ...

Re: Arrl field day for those interested in ham radio

I put in just over an hour logging last night for N5EOC in Southlake. We made several QSOs including a station in the Virgin Islands. Field Day may have ended up getting me sucked into HF & contesting. It was quite fun.
