Re: The most armed man in America

Actually I'm pretty sure that guy has been reported on before. If I remember correctly, he owns/runs a historic weapons of war museum. Didn't read the whole article, the whole scary and frightening part of the first part of the article turned me off. I am very envious of that man's collection though...

Re: Walther Rebate

I'm having a bit of a conundrum. I got the 5 inch PPQ model and am planning to use it for IDPA (that thing is amazingly accurate). But that means I need to get 2 more magazines. The best price I have found on the mags is $40 each, plus shipping. So I could spend $85 or so and get those. Or, I could...

Re: Corrected Bipolar Misdiagnosis(Doctor's Note) Next Step?

If I understand the requirements right, Bipolar disorder is one of the items that if diagnosed would have to be reported. Considering in your case it is a "misdiagnosis", I don't think it should be a problem. You simply need to answer truthfully and provide the documentation to show that y...

Re: How do you unload and clear your handgun?

Very seldom do I place my hand on/near the ejection port while racking the slide to remove the round, I usually let it fall to the ground. But there have been a few times I've done it due to terrain and other such considerations such as tall grass or such. Never been worried about the round going of...

Re: Do bullet weights actually matter?....

I must be an odd ball it seems. I don't have the time or money to go and shoot 500 round break in and 200 round SD ammo. Typically I shoot 200 rounds of fmj and 50-100 rounds of SD ammo and call it good. If a gun is going to have problems it's going to show up quickly in most cases. I currently car...

Re: How Concealed do You have to be at work?

Deep Concealed carry for me at work, when I do. No signs posted, no notice given but the employee handbook (written out of New Jersey where corporate resides) I feel like the wording could give them grounds to write up/fire. However, apparently at one of the safety meetings they covered an active sh...

Re: Carrying in the office

I know that feeling - not the ankle holster, but the itch near ya gun. We have a couple of locking/private bathrooms that aren't the normal stall setup in the office, I usually use that to adjust, scratch/itch, etc

Re: Humorous sign of the week

This is the sign we need to start telling businesses they need to post the 30.05 signs, those old 30.06 and 30.07 signs are outdated. "rlol"

It even looks real official. It'll be a quick way to tell if they know what they are posting or not. :biggrinjester:

Re: Near Miss on Darwin Award

And this is why we can't have nice things... Waiting for Tannerite to be added to the ban list for stupid stunts just like this. And I don't know why but comments like this drive me nuts: The man is shown aiming what appears to be an M-16 at the refrigerator, which is positioned at least 50 yards aw...

Re: Do bullet weights actually matter?....

I guess I'm doing it wrong   My method for determining reliability before I make a gun a carry gun is to shoot at least 500 rounds through the gun. For cost purposes, this is general FMJ ammo of various manufacturers and weights. Once I feel confident that it feeds that well without a...

Re: Antifa going to rally to remove statue of Sam Houston

All, I have been following the events leading up to the protest and counter-protest. I have been very determined to go to the counter-protest, and I actually just bought a mag holder to wear to the event. However, after doing some research, I really think the antifa protest is/was made by a fake ac...

Re: Mossberg shockwave - request for AG opinion

Via Twitter: Tonight in the TX House a Sen amendment was accepted on HB 1819 for suppressors and to allow sale in TX of Mossberg 590 Shockwave!!! Not sure if I'm reading the bill right, did this legalize suppressors without an nfa tax stamp? State laws cant override federal laws. States are trying ...

Re: Washington Examiner: "New record: America arms itself, 'necessary steps to defend selves'"

Springfield is offering 4 free mags and a holster through this month. After they announced that, the local gun shop said they were selling a lot of Springfield pistols. That is more mags than a lot of people ever get. I think S&W may have messed up their XDe roll out with the Shield discounts. ...

Re: Texas to Florida in June

If you have TX plates, watch yourself in LA territory - apparently, the State Police love Texans and want to stop and chat with us as often is possible. Perhaps your TX plates were traveling faster than LSP allows. Not going to deny my lead foot, esp on the i-10/i-12 corridor  ... lo...

http://www.click2houston.com/news/suspect-wanted-in-stabbing-death-of-man-at-southwest-houston-sports-bar Stabbing death of a man at a bar. I recently read what seemed a fairly well researched blog about stabbings. I don't know if has been posted before. If not I can post a link. It talks about sta...
