Re: What would you do?

Video document the suspect and the open garage, call 911. If person leaves in a vehicle, get video of vehicle/occupants/plates. If the person leaves on foot, running video while following to keep the suspect located might or might not be an option, depending on a whole bunch of things that are not p...

Re: Sobering interview of a Good Smaritian

The G.S.'s analysis reinforces many of the things we are taught. I'm not sure I would intervene in a similar situation without "backup" (at minimum: someone recording/videoing the situation as it unfolds) because I not only expect the 'victim' to change their story later, I would also not ...

Re: Legal Requirements for Manual Safety

All Shield versions are available in two flavors: 1) with a thumb safety, and 2) without a thumb safety. Do not remove the safety from yours. Trade the gun for the version of Shield that was manufactured without, if you feel it's a possible legal issue.

Re: things that make you go 'hmmm'

IMO, the train would have to be elevated for much of the route simply to allow road and wild life crossing. Being elevated would avoid much of the issue of obstacles on the track and minimize eminent domain requirements. That is a whole lot of concrete and construction. I don't see how it would be ...

There's also the ruffled shirt and the boots or shoes with metal buckles (pewter?). And if you OC, your holster, belt, and shoes must coordinate. :tiphat:
Aren't highland types also required to carry a sheath knife? :biggrinjester:

Re: Last of the Mohicans

Love the exteriors cinematography in the movie. For Stowe fans, I also recommend "Revenge" (1990, Stowe, Kevin Costner, Anthony Quinn, James Gammon) and the western "Bad Girls" (1994, Stowe, Andie MacDowell, Mary Stuart Masterson, Drew Barrymore) which has the added plus of lots ...

Re: Notify LEO You're Armed?

The law does not require us to verbally volunteer notification. We are only required to notify when we are asked for ID, and the required method of notification is to present the carry license along with your TDL or state-issued ID. {stuff deleted here} Show the license if you are armed when you ar...

Re: Question About Guns Accessible To Children

Texas Penal Code Section 46.13(c) says that it is a defense to prosecution for allowing a child access to a firearm if the access "occurred during a time when the actor was engaged in an agricultural enterprise." I'm confused about that. Does that mean that if I am out farming and my unde...

Re: Grand Prairie PD to being using "Less Lethal" shotguns and ammo

Even though the article says "not a beanbag round" it still sounds to me like a low velocity beanbag round fired from a regular shotgun with orange trim.

Re: Ft Worth Enforcing Ammo Ban at Will Rogers

So is this how the Ft. Worth PD get's it's practice ammo? By shaking down LTC's at the gun show? Presumably the show organizers know about this, so why didn't they supply the cops a carton of zip loc bags and a few rolls of paired numbered tickets. You drop your rounds in the baggie, they drop one o...
