Re: Balistol vs Hoppes

Ballistol for me.
Developed prior to WWI.
Good for metal or wood or leather.
Not harmful to skin, safe to use.
Have also used it to clean the micro switches on the ice maker/ water dispenser on the refrigerator.

Anti-2A Alyssa Milano with armed security - Interesting!

Alyssa Milano protected by armed security. Something doesn’t seem quite right. Perhaps it’s not about safety? Oh, only her safety, I understand now. No safety or security for everyone else. https://www.dailywire.com/news/30311/watch-nra-member-harassed-security-anti-gun-rally-emily-zanotti?utm_mediu...

Re: First full day of carrying

I'm not sure if it's "purpose built" but I bought a 5.11 "operator" belt. It's 1.75in wide and stiffer than.... Well it's pretty damn sturdy. I wore it just regular for a week before my license got here, and it has held up pretty good so far with my single clip holster, should do even better with m...

Re: Are there plans for Forum members to meet up at the NRA meeting Friday?

So I met Surprised-I’m-armed, Strogg, flightmare, and...and...shoot, I can’t remember names worth a flip. . Sound off if I met you. Also Dr John Lott (autographed a book for me), Lynn Thompson, and Donald Trump Jr. just walked by. Had no idea who he was, had to ask someone. Glad to meet ever...

Re: 147th Annual NRA Meeting in Dallas

According to Fox4News this morning, no weapons allowed during the NRAAM on Friday, due to POTUS and VPOTUS speaking.
I think this is incorrect, should not have any bearing on the exhibit hall, just the forum area.
but does anyone have the latest and greatest from the NRA on this ? Any changes?

Re: 147th Annual NRA Meeting in Dallas

New story out, still vague. If I don't get a clear answer, I'll just skip Friday. https://www.wfaa.com/mobile/article/news/local/guns-banned-during-vp-pences-appearance-at-nra-convention/547072803 The NRA post specifically mentions "The Arena", which is a specific room at one end of the convention ...

Re: ball vs flat vs hollow point for range ammo?

Freedom Munitions has some really good quality and very well priced plated RN and plated HP for target/practice. I use the reman ( remanufactured ) and never had any issues. Shipping is usually very reasonable and sometimes free depending on the size of the order. That is what I use for all of my pi...

Re: Magnetic Vehicle Mount

I think that instructor doesn’t know what he is talking about, or maybe he just wasn’t specific. You can mount a weapon anyway you want in your house. There may be an issue mounting it in your vehicle if it is not concealed, ie. mounting on the dashboard, but otherwise OK if concealed. A safe in a c...

Re: How's your shootin'

Good day at the range late today, sent some 380, 9mm and 45 acp downrange, then moved to the rifle range. New Savage 10T SR in 308, sent a total of 20 rds down range ( first 20 ever in this rifle ) off sand bags on a bench. Right out of box, only ran a bore snake thru the barrel with some Ballistol ...
