Re: Name Change: It appears that Boyert is out

I'm a huge fan of this place, as I have posted before. So, I'm a bit concerned. I really like the place exactly as it is. Hopefully they don't make any negative changes, especially to the following areas: Staff attitude (perfect mix of knowledge and friendliness, which is hard to find) OK to pick up...

Re: If you're going to pass out on trunk of a car, make sure it's Carl's car

In my younger days, I once fell asleep in the back seat of my cousin's car under a bunch of coats (small house and the party was ongoing, so it was the only place to get some sleep). I about gave him a heart attack when I sat up while he was driving his girlfriend home later that evening. But fallin...

Re: Mental Tips for Stiff Trigger?

I'm not an expert on stiff triggers, but I am curious about your comparison between the Shield and the 1911. What was the barrel length on the 1911? 15 yards is a bit far for accurate shots with any 3 inch barrel gun, including the Shield, but it is well within the effective range for a full size 19...

Re: Glock 42 issue

I'll bet it turns out to be the ammunition. I own several Glocks and like them, including a G43. But I deliberately avoided buying a G42, as I have yet to own/shoot any .380 that was 100% reliable. My Kel-Tec P3AT has been 100% reliable since I bought it 5+ years ago. It is just a pain (literally) ...

Re: Mossberg shockwave - request for AG opinion

What is the timeline for this law to be effective? Shockwave's are out of stock once again on Bud's site and I would like to get one placed on reserve order as soon as possible.

Re: Glock 42 issue

I had the exact issue with the 42 I had, thought maybe I was just using too high of a grip but turns out a lot had the same issue with the early runs thought it would be solved by now. I ended up selling mine off, was up front I had some failure to lock back problems buyer was fine with it though I...

Re: Hilton Galveston LTC friendly?

You are legal to carry to and from your room, regardless of any signage. So the only real problem would be if you want to eat at the hotel or something. Fortunately, Galveston has a lot of great restaurants that are not located in the Hilton. The Hilton is owned by the same guy that owns many of th...

Glock 42 issue

I have a Glock 42 that I bought new a couple months ago. It's actually my 11th Glock firearm, and the second Glock 42 that I have owned (long story - ended up selling the first one and regretting it). I have never had any issues with any of my Glocks other than one issue caused by an aftermarket mod...

Re: Humorous sign of the week

The sign does not give legal advice, it is a legal sign and is merely and accurately quoting the written law. It has no bearing on the LTC holder unless they choose to "brandish the firearm in a manner to cause an immediate breach of the peace". Using your legal firearm in self-defense is...

Re: California Lege Considering Traffic Fine Based On Income

I think that traffic and all other fines should be ten times higher for legislators. After all, they make the laws so they should have a better understanding than lay people about the law.

At least that makes some logical sense.

Re: Should I? Or shouldn't I

Oh darn! Less money, but at least you wouldn't have had to feel guilty since the people who organize those gun buybacks all think that every gun out there can spontaneously fire and / or explode. I understand your concern. I have been lucky enough to have never owned a firearm with safety issues, b...

Re: Arizona LTC Utilized by Texas Citizen

I like the idea of National reciprocity, but I also agree with the concerns expressed in this thread. I fear that this would give the Feds a reason to "standardize" not only license requirements, but also things like carry restrictions. I would probably prefer that we just enumerate certai...

Re: Should I? Or shouldn't I

It's too bad you're not in Fort Worth. You could have sold it to the police department for $50 last weekend.
