Re: Invited into a neighbor's home. Can I carry?

I may be confused here, most likely the case, but seems I remember a discussion a few months ago about not legally be allowed to carry on private property according to some state law. Seems I remember someone giving an example of having a cookout and inviting friends over, cc and oc welcome, that t...

Re: Invited into a neighbor's home. Can I carry?

For those saying that you should proactively ask, I would ask whether they proactively ask if a homeowner is OK with them carrying a cell phone before entering someone else's home (or any of the things that Charles mentions above). It's completely normal to carry a cell phone, a cross, a bible, or a...

Re: NRA Doesn't Allow 1911's at New Classes

As with any new design, there are uncertainties that may reveal themselves over time. I imagine once the 1911 has been in circulation long enough to prove its merit, the NRA will be happy with them. Personally, I think the 1911 design has a lot of promise, even if it isn't a tried-and-true striker ...

I really like this one and they are the only kydex holster with this.... what ya think? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06X6JRCMR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's a nice looking holster and your decision, as you will have to live with it, not me. Your needs are different from...

Re: NRA Doesn't Allow 1911's at New Classes

I guess I'll have to use my Kel-Tec P3AT as my "primary" and my full size 1911 as my "backup".

Were the rules for these classes developed by the same folks who did the last IDPA rules update?

Yes, they are fun, but for me, the biggest reason to get one is if you ever find yourself wanting to go somewhere that does not allow handguns, but allows rifles.

Next up, the poor unfortunate child will undoubtedly sue for emotional distress from being tied up. His family just needs to find his 8th grade yearbook picture to plaster on the news.

Re: Walther Rebate

I'm having a bit of a conundrum. I got the 5 inch PPQ model and am planning to use it for IDPA (that thing is amazingly accurate). But that means I need to get 2 more magazines. The best price I have found on the mags is $40 each, plus shipping. So I could spend $85 or so and get those. Or, I could ...

Re: Academy 6/11-13/17: Cowboy .22, 6 pistols in .22,.380,9MM, & .40.

As an accountant, yes I understand that there is no "free", but rather an offer to buy multiple items at a set cost. Anytime you are required to buy more than one thing to get a deal, the stated per item price is irrelevant. Rather, you should consider the fair market value of the combined...

Re: Gun sign, disappointing

Wouldn't someone be guilty of a 30.05 trespass violation if they walked past that sign unarmed? It seems to be just as clear as a gunbuster sticker, which would be a violation according to a previous Texas AG.

Re: Pass through shots/ liability

IANAL, but I believe that you could almost always be held liable if you are negligent. That said, if you choose ammo that is designed to minimize pass-through risk, and you do everything possible to avoid a shot where there is a non-threat beyond your target, you should have a pretty strong defense....

Re: Who Carries A Snub Nose Revolver

I carry an LCR when I'm exercising since it is the smallest, lightest gun I have. I've been thinking about getting a small 9mm though, like a Kahr, Nano, etc. For me, the extra weight is offset by the thinner profile, higher capacity, and easier reloads. If you are willing to go with a .380, then l...
