My gun is a 9mm.

Re: The Mindset of Combat Marksmanship

We are not talking combat marksmanship; we are talking combat mindset :iagree: The combat mindset is 1/3 of the holy trinity, along with marksmanship and gun handling. That said, presenting a firearm is an appropriate tactical response in some scenarios. While we should be prepared to shoot when we...

Re: CITY: 2 GUNMEN KILLED OUTSIDE MUHAMMAD CARTOON CONTEST

This seems like a great idea to lure would be terrorists out into the open. Just sponsor a prophet drawing contest and secure the area around the entry point with elevated snipers and barricades. You can only enter from that point if you do a quick sketch of the prophet, to minimize the chance that ...

I just so happen to have packed a couple 9mm's in the range bag today. A Beretta 92FS and a FN Hi Power. Neither has a 17 round mag, though.

Re: I actually agree with Bill De Blasio

I agree with the sentiment. There is too much hatred and vitriol out there right now. Most of it coming from the left. But I disagree with the "will not stand for" part. Put me in the camp of letting hateful, small minded people speak, even if I detest what they are saying with every fiber...

Re: Glad I was Carrying

Glad to hear it turned out to be a non-event. I know Hindsight is 20/20 but I would have called, if nothing else so they could send an officer by to make sure they weren't up to no-good, and to be the first to report - heard/read lots of horror stories about incidents like yours becoming an ordeal ...

Re: another 30.06 question

According to the DPS report for 2016 : 5 license holders were convicted for "UNL CARRY HANDGUN LIC HOLD" and 5 license holders were convicted for "UNLAWFUL CARRYING WEAPON". I don't know what those would be if not 30.06/30.07 violations. :headscratch There was also one license h...

Re: Going to Austin. State capital question.

The CHL line is a shorter faster line than what the common folks have to endure. I attended a wedding in Austin a few months back. One of the other guests at my table worked in the Capitol building as an aide or some such. She was staunchly anti-gun so she either worked for a Democrat, or Joe Strau...

Re: another 30.06 question

I'm late to the party and my gnat's attention span isn't going to cooperate with reading everything so apologies if it's covered. I believe the law needs to be amended so that it does only apply if one fails to leave after being requested to leave. Signage, even proper 30.06 signage, is not always ...
