I know what you mean. I couldn't find them anywhere local at first. I had to drive to another town where a gun shop just happened to have a box. Needless to say, I didn't have a whole range day shooting these little buggers. Just enough to get a pattern and feel for them.

Call around to your area gun shops and ask if they can order for you.

Re: Mossberg Shockwave

I shot some Aguila mini shells (buckshot) yesterday in my Shockwave. I am thinking they are the perfect mate to this firearm for the purpose of home defense. The recoil is a pussycat compaired to any other 2&3/4" buck I've tried. At 21 feet, (my maximum realistic HD scenerio,) they had about an 7 to 8 inch spread. With the Opso adapter, they cycled perfectly.

Let me just say that I'm a big guy, and at the range I don't find regular 2&3/4" shells unmanageable. However, thinking about the possibility of having to use it in the middle of the night, indoors, without ear pro, and probably not with the ideal stance/grip; I think the mini shells are the ticket.

Red or green laser? How easy is it to see and a aquire your target? Are the paddles easy to operate in that position, or, are you thinking of adding a pressure switch?

Re: Mossberg Shockwave

Finally got my hands on a box of Aguila mini shells. I bought the only box at the gun store in Gatesville. Looking forward to trying them out in my Shockwave. I already have the Opsol adapter. I'm ready to go.

Re: Mossberg Shockwave

I found a NCStar "tactical shotgun scabbard" at my local Army surplus store. The Shockwave fits completely inside. Pretty good for transport.

Re: Mossberg Shockwave

I finally got out and patterned some buck shot with my Shockwave. For a 14" cylinder bore, at 7 yrds, (typical home defense range,) the spread is pretty tight. I'm liking the #4 buck. Recoil is not that bad and aimed shots are manageable. I'd like to get a laser/light setup on this firearm too.

After doing the buck shot tests, I loaded some bird shot and did some thrown clay shooting and didn't do too bad. I don't think I'll be using it for dove season, though. lol!

Re: Mossberg Shockwave

Just put a box of shells through mine. I gotta say I'm impressed. It's not as punishing as I thought it would be. It's going to take some practice to get a good technique, but, right out of the box I was hitting the target relatively well. I think a light/laser combo is going to be my next purchase.

I just picked up a Shockwave from my local store. It even comes with a copy of the letter from the ATF in the box. I'm going to go shoot it on my buddy's land, however, I think I'll skip the public range until SEPT 1 just to play it safe.
BATFE was never in question it was Texas Law which has been cleared up and will take effect on September 1.

Yeah, I know that. I was just letting the group know that my local dealer just sold one to me.
