Re: Mission Behind Enemy Lines

I have a work opportunity in California. My gut reaction is to say no thanks, but it will be very good for my career assuming I stay with this company long term. How bad is the gun situation really? The rotation would be three to six months. I obviously won't be able to get a permission slip to car...

Re: Clearing Overgrown Land

I wouldn't put down nail boards either. You may get someone mad enough to set the place on fire. I have used a Spartan game camera that will send pictures to your phone. They are decent resolution for wild game, but you won't get a license plate number. If you get a picture of tresspassers though, I...

Re: Clearing Overgrown Land

I've cleared a lot of land, both when I was young, and now in my gray haired years. I don't believe there is any substitute for the right equipment for the job. Maybe you and your family can agree on hiring someone local that has the needed equipment. A small dozer can do wonders for over grown road...

Re: Is the right to bear arms outdated?

I don't know if our local number is near 24% but it is more than 10%, based on the social media activities. Call them Communists, Socialists or whatever, they are firm believers that government has the answer to all problems and the rest of us should be subjugated to government rule . The idea that...

Re: John Cornyn of Texas is focused on bump-stocks

Thomas Massie from Kentucky is pushing back. And he makes some good points. http://reason.com/blog/2017/10/11/bump-stock-ban-criminalizes-possession-o Massie is also troubled by the retroactive criminalization of devices that people already own. "Are the manufacturers going to be compelled by t...

Re: According to the LV articles... I'm nutz!

I have a brother-in-law that does not have a computer, smart phone, internet access, or email. He recently tried to sell something and the guy who was interested asked how to get back in touch with him. After the options of email and text were ruled out, the potential buyer walked away. We can only ...

Re: Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Active Shooter

Security guard shot before shooter opened up on the concert. They got their top men on the investigation. Top men! http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-vegas-shooting-20171009-story.html That gave them a 6 minute head start to stop him. If a security guard was shot why wasn't every armed security pe...

Except for anti gun laws.

Re: Minimum Caliber for Handgun Proficiency Exam

Since this thread has already drifted, and with all this talk about what's okay to qualify with, I'll share a story about the day I first qualified. There was a tall lanky gentleman with white hair that showed up for the class. When it came time for us to go to the range, he put on a Colt 1911 in a ...

Re: Traffic Violation

Got pulled over recently by DPS. As soon as I stopped I started to take my seatbelt off so I could get my wallet out and get both DL & LTC to show him. As I was putting them in my left hand to hold out the window I spotted the officer in my mirror watching me through the mirror with a very worri...
