Re: It's Time for National Reciprocity

For that very reason I will not carry in any of those states until a test case has made it all the way up through the judicial system. I don't want to spend any time in their jails and I can't afford to be involved paying for litigation. It will probably take a longer time than I have anyway. You a...

My guess is the same ones who enforce "shall not be infringed" now.

Presumably it will be a defense to prosecution, which is not to say places such as New York and New Jersey won't bring the prosecutions anyway.

Re: Gloves while shooting?

My carry pistol, when firing hot ammo gets pretty snappy (S&W Shield 9). Depending on my hold, it can rub a spot on my hand to be pretty sensitive. Not a blister or anything like that, but I've found that the gloves I wear aren't cumbersome at all, and take care of that spot if I get a hot load...

Re: Received incorrect information during LTC renewal process...

I have the word "Veteran" on my Texas driver's license. Had to take my DD214 to the renewal office and show it to the clerk to prove it, so I knew you didn't have to be retired to be considered a veteran. I renewed in 2016 and checked the "veteran" box for the first time. They d...

Re: Joe Straus, at it again

Why is he unopposed? because if you "oppose" him, you don't get to be on any decent committees. And if you vote against him, you also get punished by way of committee assignments. Sooooo, he's speaker until he doesn't want to be anymore. And because it didn't end well for those opposing h...

Re: Oathkeepers: Communists Intend to Overthrow the United States before Inauguration Day

Credible threat or hyperbole? Hyperbole for sure. Take a worst case assumption that the lefties have somehow gotten to the Secret Service and that they take out Trump and Pence and then occupy the White House. Then what? Were any significant part of the federal apparatus to go along, you might actu...

Re: Bills to fix the private entity leasing a government building loophole

:So here we are 15 months after "fines for signs" and no fine has yet been levied. That's not surprising. Political subdivisions not wanting to comply (which is most of them) read the law and, instead of flagrantly flouting it, looked for ways to game compliance. It's hard to corral peopl...

Sorry. It reads "Vista" instead of "Vieira" because of a combination of carelessness and autocorrect.

Re: Is Brazos County pulling a fast one?

Smith county said to local news that the AG's opinion is just that,an opinion that until a law is passed preventing them from posting, they will continue to do so. Until a law is passed. So Government Code 411.209 is chopped liver? Combining Government Code 411.209 with Penal Code 30.06 and 30.07, ...
