Right, but it was a useful tool under the circumstances.

"This is very, very unusual for us [in Wagoner County]," Mahoney told the Tulsa World. "It's not something we're used to."

Most likely because lots of homeowners there are armed, and few of the would-be criminals are foolish enough to try what these guys tried.

Re: 30.06 vs 30.07 reporting

It's not a private entity though. It's a publicly owned company. And I tried to find all the requirements for a company to be able to have 30.06 signs and I don't see that they meet any. Not saying I'm 100% correct. I could have missed something. But why don't they have a legit 30.06 sign? I've nev...

Re: Eat, Shoot, and Leave.......

It's a shame the name 'Panda Express' is already taken. Is that a Houston thing? I'm not getting the reference. There's a joke about pandas. A panda walks into a restaurant, orders and eats his meal, shoots his gun in the air, and walks out the door. When the police stop him, they ask him...

Homes Evacuated Because of DOZENS of Rounds of Ammunition

The San Antonio Police Department's Bomb Squad was called to a Southwest Side neighborhood Saturday after dozens of rounds of ammunition were found underneath a home. http://foxsanantonio.com/news/local/nearby-homes-evacuated-after-75-rounds-of-ammunition-found-underneath-house Good grief. Re: Carry At A State Park?

The legislature made it pretty clear that governmental entities are limited in the circumstances under which they can restrict carry. State-level bodies have had to get with the program. At least I am not aware of state-level bodies (other than universities) trying to game the rules. But political s...

Re: Bad News Folks

It is possible the Trump administration may try to out maneuver the Fouth Circuit ruling with an executive order designating AR-15-like weapons of American manufacture as "authorized and appropriate for individual citizens to keep and bear for Militia purposes under the Constitution and the law...

Re: CA: Maybe already too late for them

California is a mess, but why did he fire into the air? Why not the ground--if a warning shot was necessary? Wordsworth didn't mean anything quite so literal, but the point is close enough that it comes to mind: The Arrow and the Song By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow I shot an arrow into the air, It fe...

Walther P22

I bought a Walther P22 a while back to save money on target practice. It doesn't take long for it to pay for itself compared to the .45 rounds I otherwise shoot. I've noticed feeding problems. Specifically, the top round in the magazine tends to tilt up, jamming the slide. Once I've cleared that, th...

Re: Interesting events at Boerne Walmart

For another thought on why someone might want that many disposable phones, watch the TV series "The Wire." It's great watching and one of the plot threads is when the cops hacked into the drug gang's communications by finding out where they bought their disposable phones. It was actually m...

Re: Speed trap from private property???

Is it legal for a police officer (motorcycle in this case) to sit in the driveway of someone's house and run radar? My seat of the pants (i.e., unresearched) answer is that the validity of the speeding ticket is unaffected. Whether the cop was properly on the private property is between the propert...

Florida Senate Bill 610

More and more businesses across the country are banning firearms on their property. Now, a proposed bill in the state Legislature aims to make those businesses responsible for the safety of customers who may be left vulnerable without access to their weapon. http://www.wtsp.com/news/local/florida/bi...
