Re: 30.06&30.07 on a City government building

The issue must be settled, not a single ruling letter in 2017. Nothing is ever settled for people who don't like the answer. When I worked in a City Attorney's office, there were certain questions I was asked over and over again by the same people. They didn't like the answer and were hoping for a ...

Officials Attempt to Circumvent Indiana Carry Law

Apparently, Indiana law permits carrying in government buildings unless the building contains a courtroom. Lafayette, Indiana, lawyer Kirk Freeman is in the news because he looked into whether he was being told the truth. Officials claimed there was a courtroom in the basement of a new building acro...

Re: Invited into a neighbor's home. Can I carry?

It's nobody's business and in polite company it's not a topic for discussion. I don't discuss what I'm carrying nor if I'm carrying with most people any more than I'm apt to discuss boxers briefs or colors of my undergarments. I agree that concealed carry should be a matter of, to coin a phrase, &q...

Re: Invited into a neighbor's home. Can I carry?

I carry concealed into 5-8 homes every business day. The subject has never come up. I practice don't ask/don't tell. It sounds to me as though you are entering homes on business matters, not as a social guest. Business relationships and social relationships are different. In social situations, I do...

An interesting take on Philando Castille and how to interact with police while carrying:

Re: What we have been saying.....

John has a long mustache. Simple single use codes for important stuff. My freshman college roommate and I were friends with a guy who was still a high school senior. We were at UT Austin, and we knew he was about to come to town. We wanted to let him know how to contact us, so (revealing how long a...

Re: Reciprocity in D.C.?

Reciprocity would be pretty useless to Congressmen and their staffers if they didn't also have an exemption to 18 USC 930 which covers Federal buildings. On a more serious note, if something like this doesn't get the rules for federal buildings changed, what will? I'm not suggesting a beneficial ch...

Part of me would like to see one or more of them burned on that. It's within their power to change.

I don't open carry, but I am deeply skeptical of almost all social (so-called) science. Much of it is just Lefty talking points gussied up in obscure language.

Re: 51% sign and not TABC licensed

If the business in fact has a current TABC license, whether BLUE or RED, it has to be in the TABC system. The problem is often difficulty with doing a search. The license is usually not under the name of the establishment, but often the holding company or family name. And doing a text search is pro...

Reciprocity in D.C.?

Rep.Thomas Massie (R. KY) has filed a bill that would extend reciprocity for HLs issued by the various states. The proposal is, of course, motivated by the recent Arlington shooting.

Re: 1942 Teacher Parking Lot Law

Looks like we lost this battle. Are we sure? It looks like the Senate concurred on the amendments and it's labeled as passed both houses... not sure if that's quite far enough along to be sent to the Governor, but I sure hope so! I just checked the legislature's website. The bill looks dead to me.

Re: Movie theater scenario, any tips?

Or just invest in an 83 inch 4k TV with 7.2 surround sound and stadium seating. For me $10000 is worth it when it comes to protecting my life yet still getting the theatre experience. I settle for a less dramatic movie experience and watch them on my 26-inch set, which is as big as will fit in the ...
