Finally have my plastic!
Wasn't too bad of a wait either - 66 days total from all-in to plastic in hand.
Good luck to the rest of you still waiting - I hope the days pass by quickly!

Thanks
I contacted the RSD yesterday evening. The gentleman I spoke with was extremely nice as well. He indicated that they were still 3 days inside of their "60 day requirement" on my application. Based on what he said - it will be 60 calendar days for me on Friday since I received my confirmation email. I think people would be a lot more understanding and patient if there was some sort of method to the madness and a more informative "status update" on the website. It seems as though there are folks that submitted applications back in January and February still waiting on something while there are a few that submitted in March already getting their confirmation and license in the mail. Just my two cents.JoCannonIV wrote:Just got off the phone with RSD, very nice and polite. There has always been a debate on the timeline of 60 days, is it 60 calendar days or 60 business days? Personally I don't care as long as I understand which.
My all in date was 2/16/16 and according to the phone call I am at 47 days (business day) and 60 days will be May 10th, 2016. This basically boils down to 12 weeks not 6 weeks
. I know there will be a lot of you that don't agree with their statement on business days (please don't
the messenger). I am just happy to have an answer and have a better idea of when to expect approval.
So I am just going to sit back and wait at least 2 1/2 more weeks.
Hopefully this information helps some of you waiting and wondering.
Just to get ahead of the onslaught:
GC §411.177. ISSUANCE OR DENIAL OF LICENSE. (b) The department shall, not later than the 60th day after the date of the receipt by the director’s designee of the completed application materials:
(1) issue the license;
(2) notify the applicant in writing that the application was denied:![]()

Being that a day is not defined as a business day or calendar day. It seems to leave the RSD the option to interpret the law the way they want to.
Just curious - is this email everyone refers to when they say "confirmation from DPS"..?Marvel281 wrote:Did you get the confirm email at least? If not, I would be contacting RDS soon.merrittj214 wrote:My all in date was 1/21/16. Still nothing. No mail. No email. No calls from the DPS/RSD. Nothing at all.
Like our buddy from a few days ago, when I buy retail I am always delayed. It's embarrassing so I'm holding off on my new Glock until I get the plastic. Obviously I have no disqualifying offenses on my record. If I did, I wouldn't be here.
If the RSD gets a delay from NICS, what happens? Do they follow up with the FBI, wait on them for an approval, or after the three day period move forward (like FFLs do)?

My all-in date was 2/22. I've seen several people on this site that were all in late Jan / early Feb that are still waiting. Makes one wonder if your call to them might have sped up the process for you or if they're finally getting close to being caught up.CaptainShaklaky wrote:CaptainShaklaky wrote:My all in date was 2/16/2016. I called once a couple of weeks ago to ensure that no additional documents were needed and to make sure they received everything. I asked aboit an ETA and the guy told me 2-3 months to get me into the system and aboit the same wait for my background check to come through. Needless to say I was disappointed. I thought that surely this was a mistake so I called back last week. I got the same guy on the phone again and he told me that there was no change. Not happy with this answer, I decided to call one more time. I called at about 1pm yesterday and got someone nee on the phone. I told her that i wanted to check to see if they needed additional documents and to get a status update. She said i was approved and that I was being sent to print! She gave me a time window of 7-14 business days until I receive my license! Hope this is true! Checked the website a few minutes ago and no change yet. Hope this means that they are getting caught up!
I checked the website this morning and i have a status change! I checked at about midnight and nothing, so they are working weekends! Lol! Cant wait for my wally walk!
