Re: Hollywood releases another movie featuring AR-15's

Go to the local movie theater. How many movie posters feature a gun? Of those that don't, how many are romantic comedies or children's movies?

Mass media in the US is often a manual on the dangerous misuse of firearms.

If anyone deserves the death penalty, it's that scumbag.

Re: Trump health chief supports CDC research on gun violence

The prohibition stems from publoc statements by a slew of MDs in leadership positions in the 1990s pledging their bias toward finding that guns cause violence and then banning them. The director of Doctors For Responsible Gun Ownership led the fight to stop funding that "research" and deta...

Re: Green/Red chamber

I certainly don't have the right to tell others what to do, but I think the question regarding carry is valid. I understand your meaning with regard to guns kept for historical or personal reasons, and can see how guns kept for show or limited range use (an extreme example being a skeet gun with a r...

Re: What's Your Preferred Grain in 9mm for range and s.d.?

A bit different since I shoot a .357 Sig, but same idea. I use 115 Hornady HAP for the range and 147 Hornady XTP for SD. The 115s move at around 1350 for minimum reliable cycling and the 147s move at 1425, both from a 5.7" barrel.

Re: Green/Red chamber

If your carry gun is not drop safe, then why are you carrying it? Why do you even own it? I have seen what a .44 magnum hollow point can do to an arm (nearly killed the victim from blood loss and nearly cost the arm). I won't own or knowingly be around a non drop safe gun after that. It was an old r...

Try the Sig P232 or the Walther PPK. Nothing fits my hand like my 232 with the Hogue rubber grip.

Re: Suppresor Talk/ opcions

Get a separate rimfire can if. You'll be shooting .22 LR or only shoot jacketed rimfire like 17 hmr or .22wmr. Don't put .22 lr through a center fire rifle can. Really only an issue if you can’t service the suppressor yourself because of the crud buildup. If the suppressor is user-serviceable, it s...

Re: Talos Ballistics bulletproof clothing

Why not wear a IIIA vest with regular clothing? I'm in the process of getting a IIIA panel sown into my satchel/man purse. The panel was $125 shipped from bullet proofme.com (nice folks in Austin), and I got the leather satchel on deep discount at a going out of business Kenneth Cole outlet for mayb...

Re: .300 BLK food

I have about 800 fully prepped .300 blk cases made up from mixed military range brass. It would've been cheaper just to buy them counting my time, but i am now certain than I can feed my "soon to be" rifle unless they quit making .223 cases or .308 bullets. I'll share my data as well, but ...

Re: .300 BLK food

Im trying the same thing with lil' gun. Everyone seems to claim that it's hard on barrels due to an issue with some niche revolver, though the only person who actually tested that was the owner of the revolver shop. It seems like gossip to me. Does quickload give an astronomical great of explosion f...

Re: Barrel Length

As you said, it's subjective - that's one reason you tailor-make your ammo to suit your preferences. And that's a great point. It amazes me how a caliber that may be marginal or otherwise suboptimal in the form that it commonly takes can be made into a great set of compromises with a few small twea...

Re: NFA tax stamp and your local TX gun range?

The dirty secret is that nearly all Americans own highly effective, 2-3 use disposable suppressors. Watch the Jerry Miculek video on using a "field expedient pillow suppressor". A criminal sophisticated enough to care about disguising the sound of his gun shot would have no trouble procuri...
