Re: HB987: Rep. Anchia's "Protect the Criminal" Bill

Thanks Chas. Your post should definitely be a sticky. It would help those with questions about the Castle Doctrine in Texas. On a totally different topic, how does someone listen to your podcasts if they don't have iTunes and would not install it in their pcs?

Re: Do you wear gloves when cleaning your guns?

I wear them because it's easier to get the smell off my hands and keep my fingernails clean. I know I know... unfortunately people will always judge you at first impressions and if I'm on the keyboard it's less explanations need it when coworkers are hovering around.

Re: Best Practices for avoiding buying a stolen weapon

if said LTC holder bought it online for a very good price and decided to sell it to make a quick buck, then the buyer if confronted in a situation where he had to use the weapon would be in a place where I'm sure most of us wouldn't want to be in. Welcome to the forum, superstar! Please explain thi...

Re: Best Practices for avoiding buying a stolen weapon

I think like TAM said, a bill of sale, and having the gun checked by the local PD etc. would probably prevent any charges of theft on your part even if the gun were used in self defense. If and when I go to the local PD and ask to check if a gun it's stolen, can I request a police print out of the ...

Re: Best Practices for avoiding buying a stolen weapon

Thanks! I'm buying new then! saving a few bucks does not warrant feeding into the loop of buying stolen weapons. This might be a different topic but would a person be in legal trouble if they used a stolen weapon in a self defense shooting? Given that they bought it and in good faith thought it was ...

Best Practices for avoiding buying a stolen weapon

Reading about gun stores being targeted for theft, what is the best way to avoid buying a stolen gun? I bought mine new so never had to worry about it. Just asking if the seller has an LTC does not guarantee that the weapon is not stolen, if said LTC holder bought it online for a very good price and...

Re: Question: Proper Handgun Grip For Self-Defense?

What works for me: Grip the pistol high and without a gap between your thumb and index finger, middle finger is pressed against the bottom of the trigger guard and the remaining fingers are next to each other without a gap. The support hand's palm touches the grip and makes sure that no part of the ...

Re: Receiving a Gun Safe

Thank you all for taking the time to reply. It was very informative. Would leaving a safe in the garage be a bad idea? (Houston's crazy and humid weather). The guns would be cleaned every time they come back after the range and or at least once a year. The garage does not have A/C.

Receiving a Gun Safe

Merry Christmas and happy holidays all, Thinking of getting a 24 or more gun safe, not sure on which one yet, I'll probably research and narrow it down later on the future but I will gladly take your take on it! :txflag: My question is, when I do get it, if it's delivered; do the boxes that come in ...
