Re: Forum will be down for maintenance 5/22/18

I want to publicly thank the folks at https://www.virtbiz.com/ for their help and support. The problem was not of their making, yet they provided support that I suspect was beyond that normally provided on a dedicated server. These folks have been great since the first day we moved the Forum here a...

Re: OK: Oklahoma restaurant shooter had license as armed guard; attack stopped by 2 armed men

I wonder why both of the men who confronted the shooter did not have their weapons on them at the time? Obviously they were ready willing and able to use them. Maybe the restaurant was posted and the good guys had stored their firearms in the trunk while they were eating. TITLE 21 § 1290.22 - BUSIN...

Re: When is a school a school?

It pretty much is a joint use area. The school uses it exclusively M-F, and the church uses it exclusively Sunday mornings for Sunday school classes. The church also uses it on Wednesday nights. Could a prosecutor charge you with a felony for carry in the building during Sunday morning? Is it worth...

Re: When is a school a school?

There is no full definition or case law on this. However, since the school is accredited, that pretty well nails it down that it is considered a private school per the Texas Education Association. If the church has a defined area that is used for classes and the school, then I would definitely stay ...

Re: CHL holder attempts to stop fatal hit & run.

One final note to those who bring up the tired rebuttal about stray rounds: so if I had a clear line of fire , you'd better believe I would empty every round I had to get him to stop. Fifth weapon safety rule is "know your target and what lies beyond it." I'm not going to shoot at something driving...

Re: Mip

So it won't show up on there background checks or any thing? They are looking for what counties and cities you were living/working in during those times. Then that will run the background checks in those cities and counties. Best bet is if you had a gap in the dates, send DPS an email and let them ...

Also I left out a job that I only worked a very short time at. How strict are they on job history? I should have set down and thought of everything first but completely forgot about that tell a week later. In my gap I just put unemployed in the job section and that was ok. Unemployed, self-employed...

Mrvmax, I thought you were responding to the recent posts made on this thread. I have similar feeling and agree with your conclusion. If you weren't, I was not aware of the time limit for responses to threads, I could not find anything in the Forum rules about it. :tiphat: Sorry if I was a little t...

Re: Defensive Snub Revolver

Stephen is no longer with us but if you can find his self published defensive guide to the j frame it'd be well worth the effort. Maybe google fu in e-bay for Stephen A. Camp's shooters guides might be successful. Stephen wrote 'Guides" for the 1911, Browning High Power, J frames, and one novel. Th...

I tried a link i have seen on other pages but there is nothing there, it just gives me the option to apply for a trainer certificate. This is the link https:/...
