Re: Would you buy this 1911?

It wouldn't be my first, or second, or even third choice for a 1911. But the price looks decent, and I'd still consider it. It's also a Springfield. They make some fine 1911s for the money. And as the two above have said, you can't have too many 1911s.

Re: NRA National Meeting May 3-6 -- Anybody Worried?

Hey, I'm not complaining that it didn't come personalized with gold embroidery or with anything fancy shmancy. They were making such a big deal about the meeting that I was expecting something more than, "Let's hope they realize this is the badge."

Re: NRA National Meeting May 3-6 -- Anybody Worried?

Woohoo! Just got mine in the mail. And boy... OK, my expectations were already very low. Extremely low. But no, somehow, the NRA hit the mark below the bar. I saw the letter. Looks great. I saw the badge holder. OK, it's an odd, nonstandard design. Fine. Wait, where's the badge? It's not in the hold...

Re: Is Cornyn's time up?

In reality, Cornyn is pro-2A. He's just not as ardent about it as most 2A supporters are. He's more on the middle, which still makes him a far better candidate than any Demorat. I will vote for him if he is my best choice, regardless of political party affiliation. The way things are going, I know a...

If mine never comes, can you make a photocopy for me? :biggrinjester:

Re: I have a really dumb question

1911 dimensions are generally very consistent to make parts easily interchangeable. This includes the mag well, slide, etc. The exterior dimensions of the magazine will be the same because of that. Interior dimensions will be modified to work with the caliber of choice, of course. The extractor will...

I'm still totally :confused5... I'm clearly not a public transport guy.

Hey, anyone want to meet up at one of the DCTA stations on the morning of 5/4? That way, we can get completely lost together. Who knows. Maybe by the end of the day we'd end up in Brownsville.

Re: NRA National Meeting May 3-6 -- Anybody Worried?

I'm looking at it the train schedule... Sheesh. Seems complicated. So I have to take the DCTA train to some green train to a blue train to get to the convention center?? I'll have to memorize the timing and the station names too. You know what, maybe I'll just order a Lyft after all.

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods to destroy all unsold firearms after Parkland shooting

I think DIck's may have did the manufacturers a favor. Receiving the items, booking them, then reselling them is a huge pain, and may end up costing the manufacturers more money than it's worth. And they probably would have taken the loss (without charging enough of a restocking fee if at all) just ...

Re: My guns don't need to be pretty, they just need to work

To me, it depends on the gun. My 6.8 SPC AR? It looks disgusting. The hand guard is just a Hogue tube, not at all rail compatible, the scope looks very out of place, the stock is of a fixed type, the mag is metal only, and the pistol grip looks awkwardly goofy. But it works wonderfully and is incred...

Re: WTS: Vortex Viper reflex sight and Bushnell AR/223 3-12x with BDC reticle

It only comes with the pic rail mount according to the box. If your M&P has an RMR cutout from the factory, it would have come with an adapter plate or two that would work with the red dot. If you don't, then you'll either want to ask a smith to cut one for you, or you'll need to get an adapter ...
