I found a vaquero today at my local gun shop. It's the color cased blued version with the factory walnut grips. It was used but the guy hardly ever shot it. I have Vaqueros in 44-40 and .357, and I love shooting them. I had a a problem with the 44-40 (which I bought second hand) and I sent it to Ruger for repair and they fixed it (free of course...per their policy). I love Ruger firearms.

I'm needing suggestions for a good rig to carry my Ruger vaquero. I'd like the old western style with the bullet loops and for the holster to have a leather hammer thong to keep it in the holster when I'm on the four wheeler or tractor. I have had the nickname "tater" since high school, after I hit a home run playing baseball. It was the only HR I ever hit, and it was an inside the park HR. Our coach said "Lil' Paul got himself a tater!" ... and it stuck.
