Re: Lawsuit Against Gun Sale Website Allowed to Proceed

I would argue it's more like suing Autotrader.com over a drunk driver killing someone. Suing the gun manufacturer would be akin to suing Ford. Or like suing a car sales company over a drunk driver killing someone. But that is not the point. These type of people go after the bigger guy, whether they...

Re: East Texas Meetup/Breakfast

Ok, I'll start putting some date/times up and go from there. I know most the breakfast places in Longview, like IHOP and wafflehouse, stay pretty busy most the day. If you want to try for a lunch meet, Texas Road House, even though busy, has a lot of seating, may have to wait a bit, but there is cal...

East Texas Meetup/Breakfast

This area includes: Carthage, Gilmer, Gladewater, Hallsville, Jefferson, Kilgore, Marshall and surrounding areas.

Just wondered if anyone in these areas wanted to do a meetup/breakfast. Was thinking somewhere in Longview, that would be about a 30 min drive from most cities in the area. What say you?

Re: If the 2nd Amendment is repealed poll

While I would hope more than 5% would take up arms and defend our constitution, in reality, I don't think that will happen. I served this country once to defend the constitution and was willing to die for it, wouldn't hesitate to do it again. "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support...

Re: Land survey to GPS coordinates

When I had my land surveyed, I got a plat/map with the coordinates on it. I found where most points were, but needed to rest. I zoomed in on Google Earth and took a screen shot, then overlaid the plat. It wasn't perfect, but was real close. I then had google earth running on my phone and paired that...

Re: Land survey to GPS coordinates

There is no possible way of doing GPS coordinates, everything is done by degrees of point. IE. at starting point, 35* NE 356 ft to next marker, etc... Only way to get this right, would be to have the surveyors or other survey crew come back out and redo it and properly stake your bounds. This of cou...

Re: 30.07 sign comes down

I think a lot of signs are posted for the same reason the western store posted one, they were convinced signs were "needed". Once owners start realizing what it really means, they come down. This is mainly for small independent companies, but does apply to bigger chains.

Re: Two-Tiered pricing?

Lets just assume a $75 class fee. Non NRA members = full price NRA member = $50 Non NRA with option of one year enrollment = NRA discount + $30 This is also dependent on the quality of instructor and class material. I paid $100 for my LTC class. While it was expensive, the quality of training I rece...

Re: Point And Shoot - Got Any Pointers...?

Point shooting is like aim shooting, you just have to practice on it. But like others said, each pistol will be different. If you choose to point shoot, stick to one pistol (if you have more than one) and practice. It's just like Center Axis Relock shooting, which is a form of point shooting, just p...

Re: East Texas landowner kills 400lb hog with AR15

This was just down the road from where I live, was a big story for a while. Although I have not seen one this size, I have seen many that were close to 300+lbs. The natural springs and marshy areas here are prime hog grounds and the fact there are many farms around with large corn, pea and bean crop...

Re: Not watching the Superbowl

Was never a fan of football anyways, only half watched games if I was over at someone else's house. I don't even know who's playing or what Bowl number it is. I also cut my cable service and have not watched regular tv for several years now, I just use streaming services and only watch shows I want....

Re: Ever Used Glow-On Paint To Brighten Iron Sights?

Bought some of the Glo-On paint to try it out. Works good if it is hit by light, not so good if brought out of concealment in the dark. So I picked out the paint and dabbed some real bright yellow nail polish on the sights. Worked a lot better and cheaper than the Glo-On, but that's just my opinion....
