Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

Congress must approve foreign payments and gifts to federal employees per the emoluments clause. This is why Barack Obama was impeached when he accepted the Nobel peace prize along with it's accompanying cash payment from the government of Sweden. Oh wait, no that didn't happen. But didn't Obama do...

Re: Florida Misdemeanor

If the charge from Florida is a misdemeanor (whether 1 or 2) & there's possible jail time you'll be denied. If it's an "infraction" like a speeding ticket, that's different. But, original post stated it was a Misdemeanor 2 in Florida. I'll be the guy saying I told you so when you get ...

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?

:iagree:

Wow that is a really elegant political solution that encapsulates pretty much what all the pro-gun constituencies want, with a bill that most legislators really ought to be able to vote for. I hope it gets the consideration and backing it deserves.

Re: Peruta En Banc Opinion - Concealed Carry Lost

Some Internet guessing that a possible Kennedy retirement may have caused the other conservative justices to punt, hoping for a more secure pro-2A majority. /guessing If true, this type of results based jurisprudence is disturbing, regardless of whether we agree with the ultimate ruling. Lawmaking ...

Re: The most armed man in America

I have almost 200 of them in my name. I don’t think anyone in the US has that many guns in their name. I think LaRue has more than 200 guns with his name. :evil2: There was a FFL in Grapevine that had close to 200 registered Thompson submachineguns. Don't know if he still does. Bought a MAC10 from ...

Re: NCAD is at again

They don't have to comply, NCAD is at its heart, an educational institution serving to educate you on your property value for tax purposes. It is a felony to carry there. Also they are an amusement park, hospital, and a church, as well as deriving 51% of their revenue from the sale of alcoholic beve...

Re: The most armed man in America

This part confused me I have almost 200 of them in my name. I don’t think anyone in the US has that many guns in their name. I have no idea what "in my name" refers to, or why the other 2,800+ guns he owns are not "in his name". But if he is referring to guns he personally owns ...

And two years after the passage of the law...nothing. I believe that at it's heart, the Kempner city office building is an "educational institution" dedicated to the learning of young and old alike, therefore it is a felony to carry there. :rules:

Re: Recourse against employer who disregards SB 321?

The Petro Chem industry has had random searches of vehicles in the parking lots. Sometimes involving dogs. I've heard of people getting in trouble with hunting guns, and liquor. I got in some trouble once because they found a Bic lighter on the passenger floorboards of my car. Searches of POVs are ...

Re: Recourse against employer who disregards SB 321?

"And who are these employers that ACTUALLY conduct random searches of privately owned vehicles in their parking lots. I know lots that say they will, but how many really waste the effort? Do they require employees to open locked vehicles? Do they go through the trunk, glove box and other compa...

Re: Recourse against employer who disregards SB 321?

Not sure about the OP, but some of us are subject to random searches... Makes for some potential high stakes gambling on a daily basis. :mad5 If they terminate your employment for that very reason, just think of the backpay and maybe punitive damages you may get. :tiphat: Good luck proving that in ...
