Re: So the President is a Gun Free Zone?

Yes. Just YES, and this is just something you will have to live with, sorry. From the story it appears that he was released without charge. So it’s only a gun free zone in the sense that Secret Service will keep you out of a certain zone that they establish, but having the weapon is not in itself a...

Re: DFW Auto Show at Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center

I've been to KBHCC for numerous events and they never had metal detectors. There are no signs that I've seen anywhere.

Re: Green/Red chamber

I always carry my Glocks and other striker fired pistols with the hammer back on a loaded chamber. When the perp sees the hammer back he usually gives up without a fight. And I’ve been in tons of gunfights and survived them all. :smilelol5: I promise, I would give up, too. That sounds almos...

Any person that you might want your daughter to date. I don't think knit caps with something stuck under it needs to be constant attire nor to I think guys with long scraggly beards and shaved heads do us any favors.

Re: Green/Red chamber

I carry a revolver with hammer down on an empty chamber and the next chamber empty as well. So my first trigger pull readies the gun and the second, fires a shot. Sometimes the click on an empty chamber is all it takes to scare away the perp. Kind of like racking the slide on an auto. Sometimes I w...

Re: You missed one of the great Super Bowl games!

I think the point was there is no actual flag present to which you're supposed to render honors. Probably a matter of interpretation, but here's what the U.S. Code says: United States Code Title 36 §301. National anthem a. Designation. — The composition consisting of the words and music known as th...

Re: You missed one of the great Super Bowl games!

I ended up going to a work-sponsored party yesterday evening. A whole bunch of people I haven't see in years showed up. I mingled, talked, etc. It was fun. At some point during the event, I hear the national anthem play, so I stood, took off my cap, and stood in solemn silence until it was over. I'...

Re: You missed one of the great Super Bowl games!

The absurd policies they have on everything from blacking out local TV coverage when games don't sell out to suing anyone who uses the "SB" name, were a driver. Remember that great movie "Trains, Planes and Automobiles" where John Candy gets up and says "How about them Cowb...

Oh cool I’m getting one like Rick’s in The Walking Dead! I’ve wanted one since the ‘80s and had to settle for a Taurus and a Ruger.

Re: Texas Laws on Civil Liability

As you can see, sometimes it DOES make a difference. "rlol" It ALWAYS makes a difference for CDO guys like me. (CDO? It's just like OCD, but in alphabetical order, as it should be.) Can we sue people who don't use the Oxford comma? Maybe, too, those that misuse apostrophes in possessive p...

Re: Self defense isurance

Personally I have an attorney and bail bondsman on retainer. I pay a flat fee to have Alan Dershowitz available to me at any time for his regular fee of $1000hr, even if he’s in the middle of a seminar at Harvard Law School. My bondsman will provide a cash bond of up $1,000,000 in any court in the U...

Re: Talos Ballistics bulletproof clothing

What do y'all think of this company's offerings? https://talosballistics.com/product/talos-ballistics-nij-iiia-bulletproof-fenix-ballistics-base-layer/ They make a whole line of bulletproof clothing that is intended to look non-tactical, including the undershirt that I linked to. It seems like this...

Re: Is This Sign Legal?

I recall reading on this forum that if a govt owned property is rented by a non govt organization, then the property or premise is under the control of the renter and the renter may post enforceable 30.06 / 30.07 signs for the portion of the premise under their control. (I think I saw this in a dis...
