Re: Heckler & Koch Blackballs Israel

I haven't owned them all, but the MP5 and P7 were two of the best firearms ever made. I want a pre-'86 HK MP5, but can't afford the $35-40K they are now going for. Additionally, due to the GCA of 1968, there are no real HK MP5 models available for civilian ownership. Only pre-86 conversions from se...

Re: another 30.06 question

I'm not going to argue with you Scott. You seem to just be wanting to pick a fight. The sign must indicate entry is forbidden. That's all. If you put up a sign that CLEARLY indicates that entry is forbidden and the appellate court will buy it then wonderful. If you put up a sign that DOES NOT clear...

Re: another 30.06 question

Practically, the risk that I would be discovered and successfully prosecuted for my actions is low enough that I am willing to ignore such notice, and be comfortable that I am not breaking the law. :tiphat: Fair enough, but everyone take note the comment conflates two different concepts: 1. "t...

Re: another 30.06 question

Here is the simple answer to your question. ...a sign indicating that entry is forbidden. Any sign you can design showing whatever you want that clearly makes that indication IN THE JUDGEMENT AND SATISFACTION OF THE APPELLATE COURT is sufficient and meets the definition. They will be the ultimate t...

Re: another 30.06 question

Another issue mentioned above is the enforceability of a sign. There is a difference between... "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service", and "No one without a shirt or shoes may enter" The first sign only states that one can not expect to be served, while the second unambiguously condi...

Re: Taco Bell employees pull guns on armed robbers

I believe YUM Brands (based in Texas) Taco Bell franchises their restaurants. I would be surprised if 3 of the employees were carrying without knowledge of the owner of that location. But no doubt the corporation has some dumb antigun policies in their franchise agreements...for the 'children' and f...

Re: HB435 Emergency Services Personnel

My opinion of 30.06/7 on publicly open businesses is that it is an unnecessary imposition by the state on a civil matter, but it is the law. But so is HB435 (today!). So if a sign is (legally) defective, or I am truly an ESV, I will blithely ignore it and conceal and carry. The risk is that I am WR...

Re: HB435 Emergency Services Personnel

Technically you don't have to leave if the reason for asking you to leave is that you're carrying. As a practical matter, the person in charge of the property could just make up another reason. With HB435 if you are truly an emergency volunteer, you can legally carry past almost all 30.06 signs exc...

Re: HB435 Emergency Services Personnel

I am not aware of anyone, ever, being prosecuted for a 30.06 or 30.07 violation that left the premises when asked. Therefore, it would almost make this new, very vaguely written, law moot. Don’t get me wrong, anything that reduces the ridiculousness of 30.06 has my vote, but clearly anyone can clai...

Re: Harvey, GRB in Houston No Guns

With HB 435 kicking in in few weeks, how would this play out if upon presenting my FD/EMS id, I'm denied entry while carrying? If you work as a volunteer as opposed to a professional FD/EMS then you would have yet another reason why they can not legally deny you entry with a legally carried weapon....

Re: More Military Equipment for Cops

Belt fed machine guns, HE grenade rounds, incendiary and tracer rounds, main battle tanks, and attack helicopters. All should be standard police equipment in this post 9/11 era. It's the masses (us) that don't need weapons of war like Hi-Cap magazines and assault weapons like the Ruger Mini-14. :rul...

Re: Warrantless Searches of Homes

Wow. I'd like to think Cruz didn't see that part, but he's smarter than that. Seems to me like Texas Game Wardens have a similar power. Anyone know? Yes game wardens can search you vehicle, camper, without a warrant if they believe you have broken game laws, not sure about your home though, ATF can...
